AoS NEW *rumor*

I wouldn't pay yourself on the back just yet.

The story could be taking place outside of the story of PA. Shadowsun says she has an actual campaign to get back to.
Also, they talk about the Fourth Sphere expansion, which is pretty awesome.

Please let's not have mechanics that work with battleshock. Way too many abilities or ways to avoid battleshock I'd rather kill models than relay on that mechanic.
meh, battleshock/bravery mechanics are fine, and actually quite fun. And it's a fairly effective way of keeping powerfull things in check. But they've completly ruined it with how many countermechanics there are.

Imho, they should add more mechanics that actually make use of bravery/battleshock and remove most if not all of the countermechanics..

Agreed.

I'm personally of the opinion that something along the lines of "If a nearby enemy unit within X" would normally be subject to battleshock..." would make bloodroar a more prevalent mechanic when fielding carnosaurs. I also wouldn't be adverse to bloodroar's ability instead functioning as a forced "second battleshock" at the end of the battleshock phase, in which a d3 or d6 bravery debuff replaces the number of losses incurred for the purposes of determining how many models flee from that unit.

I wouldn't include the D3/d6 debuff… I would count the models from the first BS test. so 30 man 6 bravery unit loses 7 in combat. rolls a 2. 3 more run away. blood roar would now count those failures in the second check, so the next roll would be against 9.

Here is an interesting thought, looking back at warhammer fantasy our infantry was some of the toughest and most durable units available. Now most of our batteline that used to have 4+ or 3+ now has a laughable 5+. While knights can take some damage due to their two wounds skinks and warriors are like jelly. I’m guessing that for our next update we will likely see a return to our heavy armor

We have to keep in mind, the entirety of our battletome was "balanced" around a game that didn't have points values yet.

The Slann was balanced around being able to cast a three spells to summon ANY three units in the book. No wonder the Slann lack magical 'oomph', when their scroll used to give access to the spells listed under every other unit in the book. My main hope is that, now these are gone, the Slann get a completely reworked and updated scroll - a better command ability, several unique spells, etc.

Similarly, with three units (more, with any EOTGs) hitting the board every turn, no wonder they were made paper-thin. Increased save values MUST be a given.

Whole heartedly agreed. It's not like GW is against giving armies natural 3+ saves. With the Dwarves Ironbreakers, hell all of bonereapers. Would just be nice to Saurus as a bit more elite tanky units. With Gaurd just acting as the super beefy walls

also our book was before mystic shield got nerfed a lot of our guys could be tough with a +1 to save
more importantly, before the rule of one prevented you from buffing multiple units. Being able to protect your entire frontline with mystic shields & summon starlight was already more than enough. It'd allow you to have your entire frontline be sturdy, instead of only buffing 1 out of 3 at risk units.

Oh wait, looks like the shield is metal. oh well, :(
