AoS NEW *rumor*

Lol samheim wanted too teach us all about the loch ness monster, and now wants to teach us how to be real men. Also that computer viruses are not real. Next we will learn how the earth is flat. This guy is my new hero

That's because real men don't care about science, but only about their muscles and their axe.

Psychopath and sociopath are modern inventions I believe to be totally false.

Look at Alaxander, today they would define him as a psychopath. But when you look at it, he cared deeply for his friends. Going into a long period of mourning when one of his friends died. Phychopaths are suppose to have zero emotions. So that would be impossible.

The whole point is, if you were in a fox hole, and there was an army of people who were going to do bad things to you when they won. You would hope that in the fox hole next to you was a man who was ready to go down with the ship, and not a man who thought his life was immeasurably precious above all else and was sure they would see reason etc.

Look,

Most things are "modern inventions" when you look at it, when you study a field and need new terminology to best describe what you are observing it is necessary. Was Alexander a socio or psychopath? Maybe, I cannot tell you, nobody can, we can't talk to that guy. I don't know if he truly cared about anything then himself and his "greatness" maybe he was a Narcisist. Speculations about the legends told about "great" Men is futile.

Again what "defines" a "true man" is always and will be ever changing and many would consider painting small figurines being not a "real man". That being said, I chose what defines me, not you, not any of the other people and certainly it is not this fucking stupid "REAL MAN" image what so many shitty people are trying to impose onto me.

Maybe you should start doing the same, don't run after a perceived thing you should be when it's not what you are. Get help, be kind to yourself and then you can be kind to others. I hate the word "toxic" too, but this mindset is clearly poisoning your own mind and your views when it comes to yourself and others.

I respect your logical and well thought out post. Do I agree with any of it no. But I like the breadcrumb trail of how we can see where you got to thinking the way you do.

Alexander may well indeed be more myth then reality. But I use it as an obvious example. The idea that someone is one dimensionllay evil if they fail to conform to a current year consensus of what makes a "nice guy" is retarded.

What defines a man. Or should the question more accurately be who defines a man? who define's what a man should be today? Media. Its no surprise that the ideal man media portrays is passive, quiet, un opinionated, going along to get along etc. If I was running an empire that is exactly how I would want my subjects to be.

The next part I disagree with, as it contradicts what you said before. As you say previously anybody can be anyway they want to, but then you are disqualifying my interpretation as being toxic. So its like saying, you can be however you want, as long as we all conform to already established archotype.

Also I would argue my way of viewing things, is far more in harmony with nature. The world we live in, is one giant food chain. Eat or be eaten. To the cow you eat, it doesn't really care if you were nice or not. Or even the little bugs that were crawling all over your tofu before they got hit with the pesticide.

Observable reality is all we have to go on. It decrees this world we live on is brutal.

Also you say other people don't define you. And yet later on you say it's necessary to only adopt a way of thinking that is agreeable to said other people who don't define you.

I actually said this previously anyway, I said don't worry if people hate you. At best you should maybe worry if they respect you or not.

Why would that be important. Because on a natural level, being respected is far more important then being liked. In the military does the sergeant worry if his men like his orders? or does he care more about if they respect his order and carry them out?

they aren't in the condensed version the one i really remember was a jungle that ate whatever it was summoned on and spit it out the next round
o Right that one was nice;
piece of jungle terrain, enemies can attempt to walk through it roll a dice, depending on the results stuff happens (gets lost in the jungle, gets eaten, they find their way out). Fun times :p

I would never buy those super expensive models anyway. £25 for a lieutenant you say?

Thanks, but no thanks I say.

Realistically, most people who have the time to paint warhammer figures, probably don't have that much money. Unless they inherited the money.

I know someone is going to say, I work 200 hours a week, and paint 6 hours a night etc.

Ok ok, I get different people have difference circumstances.

I am saying that for most people, price is a factor. At least in part. I could buy anything on the GW website. Its just that I prefer buy 5 things, instead of 1 thing. Even if i end up spending the same. Most people probably think like that, I am guessing.

With that said, I bulk buy the starter sets, also the old sets where possible. Because I like to sit in a room with 100's of plastic models I will never use, rather then a room full of models I actually wanted and was motivated to paint.
*deleted by me I didn't see @Aginor post until after posting

Come on cold ones, don't fall for the troll that does the same stuff every 20 pages or so. :)

Completely off topic though: How do I package and transport a "miniature" such as a Dread Saurian? I've got skinks and warriors in slim plastic containers, but what about something that big? I struggle even with transporting something like a Carnosaur.
