AoS NEW *rumor*

True, no summoning, no Wary Fighter, and no LoSaT. Not sure how often I will play coalesced. It just won't feel like Seraphon to me. I am sure they will grow on me eventually though. I really like the sculpts for Saurus Guard.

Agreed. I feel like i owe it to myself (and my 90 painted saurus) to at least see how that list comes together.

There will be a lot to figure out.

Maybe I missed it but how do we know the thunderquake host got the ax?

it’s so interesting to see the responses from here and reddit. Redditors seem to be hyped and feel a lot of our stuff is good where as every time I read a post here it sounds like we are getting massive downgrades to everything.

We don't know, but Warscroll Battalion with massively powerful abilities like Shadowstrike or Thunderquake are just not a thing in AoS 2.0. They might very well still exist in name and probably even in the playstyle/list type they cater to, but nowhere near their current power. I would consider us lucky if we end up with two (barely) useable battallions to gain access to a CP and an additional relic without paying too much tax.

there is a guy posting on face book saying his friend is a youtube reviewier and told him skinks lost wary fighter. per him:
Saurus 1 wound
guard 2 wounds but nerfed in other areas
skinks no wary fighter

reporting overall nerfs, but the discussion seems to imply not nerfs just a drastic change in playstyle. im thinking the YT review guy doesn't like the coalesced lol
This is sad if true.
No wary fighter for skinks is kinda sucks. Guards 2 wounds but with nerfs (I imagine the Sworn Guardians ability is now gone).

I really hope this isnt true

Pretty sure that was part of old world fluff. The Slann engineered the lizardmen to defend the ancient structures of the old ones that kept the ley networks active and the polar portals stable.

Yes, the Skinks, Sauras, and Kroxigors have always come from Spawning Pools. Our Dinosaurs on the other hand, have always been worldly creatures that breed, lay eggs/procreate, and are tamed by Skink handlers or cowed by Sauras savagery.

Odd that they're now lumped in with the rest of our actual 'races'. Not sure I like that. Especially considering the Temple Ships are supposed to have vast swathes of the Lustrian Jungles intact inside them. Meaning the Stegadons and such could continue living as the beasts they are.

In AoS nothing technically has ever been an "actual race" because before the current book we were space dust.

Except not really. The Short Story from Malign Portents predates this book and talks about spawning pools, and lustrian jungles from the world that was on the ships.

Everything from the our first battletome is wrong, and supposition. They didn't write it out, and let it stay up in the air. Remember originally AOS wasn't going to be a wargaming setting, we hav i't from a GW reps mouth that it was going to be a boutique line of miniatures.

I'm not going to be upset until I see the whole picture. I don't get how you can nerf Guard further. Only by price hike. And I can see why they removed wary fighter - it is just not fun for our opponents and GW tend to remove such things. But it is still can be a command ability for Fangs of Sotek. Both skinks with bucklers and guard should get +1 save too.

Yeah, i dunno if we can say the first battletome was wrong. For basically 4 years it was literally all the lore we had, so it was real enough to me.

Sure, but Pretrifex Elite and DoT shooting is also unfun for the opponent. So it seems like an inconsistent approach.

Well i'll tell my stormcast friend then.
They can bring them, but they aren't battleline. Also, they were never battleline for allegiance stormcast. Allies can not count towards filling your battleline requirements. They were only ever battleline for Grand Allegiance Order and Seraphon.

It was wrong. It never gave a definitive answer and felt like it was written from the perspective of a mortal in the realms. That's why it can be wrong, yet real.

There were however some stories that featured Seraphon and it definitely use the lore from the battletome as the back bone. That was all during the realmgate wars though. so maybe the past couple hundred years was when the coalesced started to come about.
