The orange really looks cool. My wife did a similar orange on an Excelsior Warpriest's cloak. The recipe for us was to prime white (a real game changer there!) and then slowly build up the orange using Army Painter's "Lava Orange" in several thin coats.
They are primed with a grey primer I picked up at Wal-Mart years ago. They stopped selling it, but you can probably get a similar effect from Krylon grey primer. Rather than In Nomine Padre, I'd invoke In Nomine Duncan. This is actually one of the first times I've tried the Citadel Painting app for color selection. I went with their dark orange which calls for Mephiston Red, then a layer of Trollslayer Orange. I'm going to finish with a layer of Fire Dragon Bright, but only one of those miniatures has that layer on.
I didn't need to start work on a couple side projects. I have too much on my painting plate as it is. But the new hotness of the Shadespire miniatures called to me... And in the foreground you can see a new Seraphon.
On purpose. I had been trying to get the starry effect on my bases earlier, but it was nowhere near as good. @SlanntaClause suggested a toothbrush might work for the random spray effect further up the thread. I tried it and it worked.
You can take it further, before you flick the stars on paint the base in dark purples and then lay black lines over with some oranges and yellows then flick your stars on. A similar process was used on this but I used an airbrush and it took around 10 minutes to do 3 bases, you could use purples and blacks to have the bases darker.
Now that you say it... definitely a death star... add some fine lines of let's say moot green in the small circle and one pointing somewsomewhere to the rim, then it's firing...
Finished up my Eternity Warden. I'm not really happy with how I did the gold, particularly on the weapon, but I need a couple paints I don't have right now. I touch it up later.
And final pictures of my Shadespire Stormcast Eternals. I'm not completely happy with the shield on the last one, but one more layer of Runefang Steel will fix that.
First two of the five Shadespire Khorne. I should have the next three done fairly soon. They already have the basecoats on, I just need to finish up the washes and detail work. It's a fun project so far and a good break from other painting. I'm also going to have the Orruks to paint next week as I buy them on Saturday.
Wow those are bloody! Nice work. Also nice work on the SCE, I like the Silver with blue paint scheme.
Thanks. Blood for the Blood God, FTW! The SCE are based off the colors I used for my Empire knights many moons ago.
Finished up all the Shadespire models in the main box. Here is the final grouping of the Khorne. Blood for the Blood God!!! Skulls for the Skull Throne!!!
