It looks like there'd be a lot of involvement from the community here if we started one up and running, I'd be more than happy to help with the administration of such a contest- admins, what do you say? Before we get something like this up and running fellas, there are a couple things that need to fall into place it would seem:

    1) A prize of some sort
    2) A way of deciding themes for each contest
    3) A way of voting for entrants in each contest
    4) A timeline for each contest

In other forums I know the polling function when creating posts generally works out fairly well, but we would also need to make sure each entrant has a photobucket account that users could browse to view images; or else we could open up a photobucket account for the contests, and have each entrant send his image via email to an individual who then posts them up. Any suggestions on any of the above points?

I'm very excited to get these contests up and running! Its about time we got some more competitive motivation going around these parts ;)

    Cheers,
    Nick

    hmmmm.

A standard voting procedure would be the easiest judging factor, but I think that the competitors should either have a thread for there production so everyone can see what they're doing OR no one sees anything until the unveiling.
I think a strict deadline for finished models is best as not everyones hobby related schedules are the same, BUT if we go with the first idea of every project having a thread we could establish a Check Point system wherein competitors must be a certain level of progress away from completion, probably be pretty hard to pull of actually.

What more prize does one need other than gloating rights?

Some themes we could set up could be terrain - build a piece of special terrain (ie Blood river, or venom thicket ect.).

Been a while since I've posted and now I'm getting settled down and getting back into it. I dusted off my lizardmen (seriously) and am ready to get back to painting and converting. I'm interested. Please let me know when we start this and I'm game.

Depending on time (finals are approaching) I would be interested in possibly trying this out
