    Urrthak felt... different.

The world felt warmer. He clenched a fist and watched as ripples seemed to spread down his arm from the motion. Warm reds and bright yellows swirling, like the mouth of a Magma Cannon. He had been burned by those before.

He flexed his hand again, harder, and watched as bigger swirls spread up his arm to the shoulder. He should be feeling heat. Shouldn't he be feeling heat? But he felt almost cold. His hooves seemed to adjust themselves of their own accord as he looked up into the eyes of the Daemonsmith standing at the altar. The burning fires behind him lit his features, but it was nothing to the fires that burned within them.

    The priest smiled.

    I'm done! :D :D

SUPER happy with how these guys came out. Kind of sucks that I can't show everyone until the contest is over, but I basically finished the last of the basing last night on the Taur-ruk and they're ready for photos.

Kind of have to work out how I'm taking them to show them off best. Definitely with a dark background at least.

    Thanks guys!

@Imrahil Well, the contest starts on 22 July and so you'll probably be able to see them over on CD online... :)

Any suggestions from anyone on fiddly resin bits that keep breaking off?

Bull Centaur weapons and tails keep snapping off on slightest contact. Maybe drill a hole and use part of a paperclip? Not sure...

For weapon handles (polearms etc.) I have seen a lot of brass rod being used.

Paperclip is an option, but as I found out myself it is harder to keep straight.

And does anyone have any advice on drilling into resin? I bought a little hand-drill but it doesn't really seem to work as the fiddly bits are hard to keep hold of to create the reverse push that will make the drill bit bite...

That should work. I have used paperclips before, but some thin wire from the hardware store may work a bit better. My brother and I went half in each on a roll of metal wire maybe 6 years ago and I still have yet to use even a fraction of it, and I think it cost us maybe $10?!

Bonus points if the metal is magnetic.

You may have to do the drilling really slow, and start with a drill bit much smaller than the final rod/paperclip/tiny-piece-of-metal you are actually going to use, then scale up the drill bit once or twice until you get a hole big enough.

Thanks. I'll try doing the slow drill with a small piece first, sounds like it will work based on my experience with my Hierotitan magnetizing.

Working out ideas and doing dry-fitting. Have to work out how to heat the pieces so that they warp and wrap nicely around the various body parts.

I've seen a vid on youtube Byron from Artis Opus use a lighter to carefully heat the plastic and bend it in place. You could also try a hairdryer and see if that works.

This one sounds pretty good, have you ever tried it?

Unfortunately I've never tried something like this. As Explodingzeb said, I do think a hairdryer would work front what ive heard. A lighter would probably ly work as well but might has a higher chance of going wrong.

Hot water works for Resin, but with pure plastic models it can be different (for Resin, be sure to have the parts free hanging in the water so it can correctly straighten)

I do not have experience with much other methods. What for plastic might work is make a small cut on the 'outside' of the bent part (not all the way through) and add plastic glue. This will melt the plastic and thus shorten this side to match the 'inside'. I have to admit this is quite precisely to do right.

I've done the technique in the video on minis before but only on softer plastic and pvc minis. I'm not sure if it will work on sprue plastic. No harm in trying though as long as you're careful not to snap bits off.
