Arbitrary Patterns.
First Contest had 10 entries and 6 writers. Second contest had 9 entries and 7 writers. Third Contest had 8 entries and 8 writers. Yay for convergence I guess. I like to think the contest is growing not shrinking.
Any event we'll shoot to actually start the next contest in early October.
Anyone interested in reading fluff but not interested in writing the next contest are free to volunteer to come up with our next theme. Anything summed up in a few words with multi-faceted possibilities can work. And no, @Scolenex, "bamboo is delicious" is not a good topic.
If not I'll come up with the next topic. I'm not 100% I want to write the next contest, I have a lot of plates in the air, but I will run the next contest and continuing to offer proofreading and story advice to entries that come a reasonable period before the absolute deadline.
If we get lots of volunteers I guess we could ask Slanputin to make a poll, but if we have a small number of volunteers we can go on a first come, first served basis or I can arbitrarily pick judges with my awesome moderator power to make arbitrary decisions. muhahaha.
Anyway, minor change in future contests is I don't see a point to cap overall entries at 15. I doubt we'll get that high, and 16 or 17 isn't unmanageable. As long as we have between 6-11 entries we'll probably have up to two choices per voter. If we get to 12+ we'll probably go to three votes. <6, one vote.
Multiple entries will be fine but max two per person.
Any other ideas for future contests, let me know.
