AoS Phat Comp -Beta Draft 2 - Waiting for testers

So I have tried to put together something I think make sense.
If it does or does not will be up to you, but here it is:

The Official Phat Comp (yes, I know it is narcissistic)

Inside you will find
- Army building restrictions (including unit sizes)
- A new Win condition (fit for Tournament play)
- A fix for the Summon issue
- Added strategic options.
- System for "Ranked unit" benefits (optional)
- Allies system (Optional)

To come:
- Bug and loophole corrections.

I hope it is usable!
If not, all is subject to change (back of Tzeentch, I got this one)

All feedback is accepted, but will only be taken serious and addressed if it has a well-written argument attached to it

This seems like an interesting approach Phat. I'll have to look a bit more into the rules you have created, but I al ready like what I've read so far; the means of chosen warscroll as you have suggested seems like a good middle ground to start with. And defiantly is more welcome. than the "choose everything you brought" approach GW has come up with.

Warscrolls
I dislike the notion of counting warscrolls, limiting warscrolls, assigning maximum warscrolls . . . as if "duplicate warscrolls" is even a thing.

To me a warscroll is the merely new (and perhaps silly) name for "entry in the armybook". A stack of warscrolls printed out, bound together on the left edge, with a decent cover is (or would be) an AOS Armybook.

I think Warscrolls should not be a unit of measure for a composition system.

Standard bearers?

The only place I see it used is as something that scores a point for the OpFor. Am I missing something? Since wound allocation is totally up to the side being wounded a standard bearer would simply be the absolute last model to die, always.

I like having them on the table but it would be nice if standards did something useful.

Agreed it is not the preferred way, but we need something and Warscrolls seems to be the currency GW has planned.
I tried to work with that and before I have some feedback on how it works its how its gonna be.

Regarding standard bearers:

All standards have an ability.
As N810 deducts: my idea of a standard is both that of the Scar Vet and that of the unit.
I will add a better explanation so it becomes clear.

That way you get a point for killing a unit with a Standard like you did in 8th.

Icons is plural. Saurus can haz multiple icons (standard bearers) ??

Yep, we do need something. Where has GW published anything about Warscroll limits?

That goes against bring/buy one (or more) of every kind of model. (The Buy More Stuff! business model.)

Makes sense. I guess.

Does it say anyplace there can be only one stick? (On Empire warscrolls..?) Maybe the effect does not stack. So it would not matter if a unit had an entire color guard.

But, I could give a Saurus unit a four stick 'colorguard' ? and by spreading them out I could have a rather big zone within 5 inches of a banner? Also, with PhM's comp idea would I potentially give up 4 banner points or does that fail to stack as well?

Army - Comp

• Only one command group per unit.

I am currently trying to deal with the "Measure from model" problem, and will have a quick and tempoary fix in the next version.

They arent much into AoS, and is waiting for something to happen to it.
Besides, I need input from peers I cant affect or explain the meaning to, else I dont know if it works

Looks pretty good. I might put a cap on heroes, instead of a minimum. Joke rules, maybe instead of automatic, make them work like a prayer for a priest and on a 4+ it goes off. Summoning maybe for each warscroll that you want to summon later in the game you must add +1 to scroll selection. For example if I want to take chakax, but have the option to summon him back, he costs two warscrolls instead of one. Or I know I will want more Temple guard later. unit of 5 costs 1 if I want to bring in more later on now costs 2 scrolls. That will cap the summoning, but won't take it out completely, just have to choose wisely what you want to add or bring back
