So.. I bought something I needed for my terrain project on Amazon UK and.. They're shipping it from the US. :meh:
Here's hoping I won't have trouble with the customs.

Yeah it can be a complete pain, I used to restore 1980's bmx bikes and shipped across 20 sets of snake belly tyres, cost be £60 at customs.
 
Well the issue in Denmark is that I also have to pay the Postal Service just for looking at my package! That's $25/ £16,5 just to that alone and I payed £20 for the item + delivery. On top of that comes the usual things you have to pay and not to mention that I likely have to wait for it.

I hope that for whatever odd reason they're shipping it to the UK first and then to Denmark :confused:

That sounds like quite a (costly) hassle. I can't believe that the postal service charges that much on top of any custom charges.
 
That's a standard fee the Danish Postal Service charge should you get "cuaght". It's 175kr if I'm not mistakening so if you're ordering for that amount and your item get taken in the costums you'll pay over double that.

Just to clarify though - I can deny the package and not pay a thing and it'll be send back at no cost for me.

Uh I think so, but I ordered from the UK Amazon so it wasn't my intention to order from US. It's one of those externe sellers, but the extern seller is located in the UK as well so it's quite odd ^^
 
Well they're shipping directly to Denmark so here's hoping I won't have to pay a ton to get my pacakge -.-

My first piece of terrain :D I think it went alright. The only things I didn't make myself was obviously the zombie and the torches. For the cauldron I actually wanted to use the Cauldron of Blood from Dark Elf, but I couldn't find any Cauldron bits on stock. I created it myself by with greenstuff and using the necklace from the troglodon.

I'm kinda bummed that my water became too dark. It's actually two layers of water with the first being swirls of green and the second was supposed to be swirls of blue haha. I put too much blue in and stirred the mixture too much so it became entirely blue. Next time I'll do better :D
Also I put in some red for the zombie blood and it looks great, however, because I couldn't let it dry and moved the entire terrain piece around the blood have drifted all the way down to the skeleton lying in the water :rolleyes: It actually looks like the skeleton is bleeding and have dragged itself along with a trail of blood, haha :wacky:

The actual temple is made of styrofoam insulation, on top of that there's paper mache and on top of that there's greenstuff. Yeah I used 1m greenstuff. Finally to make it look more rough (greenstuff is very smooth) and to make it look better when it was time to dry brush I dabbed on liquid greenstuff.
 
Awesome work, it looks very dynamic... the trailing blood and waves/ripples in the water are especially nice. Great job!
 
Yeah my friend just sold all of his and we used to use that. However I think it's fun to create my own terrain so something good definitely came out of the competition :D
 
Production is on with my templeguards. I'll try and have 4 done by the end of this week putting me at a total of 8 models done. Ive just ordered 50 pairs of shoulder pads from anvil industry: http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/Spartan-Shoulder-Pads?search=spartan shoulder
since I've run out of stock. This should allow me to put on 2 shoulder pads on each templeguard and still leave me with plenty for my cold one riders and most characters.
