Hi all,
As I don't see using my nids in 40k any time soon, and I don't want to sell them, I'm planning on repurposing them as a lizardman army for WFB. I want to do it "right" and make it as easy for my opponent to understand as possible, as I plan on bringing them to tourneys as well as friendly games.
My planned counts-as scheme is as follows:
Slaan - Zoanthropes
Skinks - Hormagaunts
Camo skinks - I'm thinking lictors but I need to see what I can do with the bases, they may end up being Termagants
Saurus - Base Genestealers
Temple guard - Fully upgraded Genestealers, maybe a different color as well
Kroxigars - Warriors
Stegadons - Carnifexes modeled to easily show the difference between ancient and regular
Engine of the gods - Trygon
Terradons - Gargoyles
Razordons - Raveners
Salamanders - Pyrovores
Everything will be based properly for fantasy and I want to go with a jungle theme for the bases and unit fillers to give them more of a typical lizardman feel.
The questions I have are:
1. What are some creative ways that I can represent things not normally seen in 40k that are staples in WFB? Things like command models are the big one here. I can use different poses to some degree or more creative basing but I really want my opponent to be able to understand which units have command models.
2. Thoughts on creatively modeling the skink priest on the Trygon? I don't just want to plunk a gaunt on top and call it a day, it feels lazy.
3. What else can I do to eliminate confusion and give the army a Lustrian feel? When I set up on the other side of the table, I really want my opponent to think "Wow, great idea and great execution!" rather than "WTF? I call shenanigans!!"
Thanks in advance for the assistance, I appreciate it!
