I've seen a lot of videos and articles proving that cats really love their owners and the evidence is always pretty hack. Then I saw this. 5 stars Onion. 5 stars.
For me it is the other way round. Dogs probably (hard to prove but there is research suggesting it) aren't our friends, they are our subordinates. They might be just hard wired to worship us because we are more powerful. Sure, they make great companions that way, but it isn't something they choose to, and it isn't friendship. A cat that doesn't like you (or something you did) is more likely to tell you so, regardless of the consequences. That way it feels more like living together with someone than owning someone. To me that's preferable.
1) that's funny but unfair toward cats. Cats are indipendent animal, but they like companionship. I adopted a young female cat that was left almost alone for a couple of months. In the first 10 days she was literally my shadow. Cats may sleep or do things without actively interact with you... but they do these things often in the same room with a human. THAT SAID 2) Anyone who believes that cats have the same attachment toward humans than dogs, fools himself.
