    I also thought about this:
If you had a farm with, like, 20 thousand chicken... do those count as pets?
Because.... Damn that's a lot of money right there if they live forever, as you don't have to buy new chickens (maybe even their food? Do they live forever even if you don't feed them? And they never get ill?)

Or if you had a dog/cat/bull/whatever for breeding. Some of those are insanely valuable. If it lived forever that would allow you to make enough money to not care about traveling expenses or money for food/vet.

Same for traveling: Imagine you had a helicopter - those things have brutal upkeep - and you wouldn't pay that upkeep because it is a means for traveling, which is free using option #1. You would make a lot of money flying around with your helicopter, and people traveling with you that pay you.

I used to own a fairly small flock of 10 chickens (including one rooster), and it didn't cost much to feed them. 20$ for fifty pounds of their food, and it usually lasted for 1-2 months.

For small amounts of chicken that's correct, but if you plan to have lots of them and make money with it (like selling eggs to supermarkets) then you will need different food logistics (and different food). I am not an expert on that but I am pretty sure that food is a major cost factor for a big chicken farm.

But if the pet would age and get weaker then I would not want option three. If they stayed youthful then I would because even if a cat died at 30 that is ridiculously impressive. Ages 15-20 is average. Sweetpea was 9.

Oh man that's really too early. Mine is 8 years old and it feels like she was a tiny fluffy kitten, like, yesterday.

Good point, but you won't need to feed different food for the chickens. Though, they would certainly be happier chickens if they were fed with different food, and thus, produce better quality eggs (better nutrition for their bodies as well).

Popular cuisine dishes include, but not limited to:
    Watermelon
    Bananas
    Bread
Chicken (rofl, mine would chase me once i pop out of the door with cooked chicken)
    Yogurt

I think we can all look at the original image and understand its intended meaning. It was never about creating super farms. :meh:

With "different food" I mainly meant that if you have several thousand chickens you cannot use some of the above food because it would either be too much work to process (you cannot just throw 200 watermelons in there :D ), spoil too quickly (like the yogurt), be cost-inefficient (like chicken) or just not be allowed by the standards your customer or the government demands (for example in Germany, where it is illegal to feed meat to chickens).

That being said: As long as you don't have thousands of them and are trying to live and get rich from having them, Chickens are relatively easy to keep. They are a pretty good option for having meat in a post-apocalyptic scenario.

    :D *trollface* :D :D

    Food, hands down.

Travel is something that i can or i cannot do, but i need food everyday, and quality food would be excellent.
Unless we're talking about also gas for car… but probably i would still vote for food.

I love my pets, but a dog/cat/whatever lives its natural life, then there's death and another pet to love wich will have lovely, different qualities. To handle the loss of a pet is a thing that is a part of our life… to want something different is understandable but also egoistic.
    And maybe Dangerous…
