Still droids for me... but Asoka and young Anakin are to be taken into account... the girl more than the boy cause she appears more frequently thanks to being part in the clone wars series...
I can understand people's annoyance with Ahsoka in the Clone Wars movie, and a little bit with the first one or two seasons, but from season three onwards and Rebels, she develops into in my opinion one of the best, if not the best female characters in Star Wars. Again, it's my opinion, but I'm wondering how many people have seen seasons three through six and Rebels based on this.
OOOOHHHH !!! That reminds me that I have the second season of Rebels on BluRay but haven't watched it yet.
Just watching it occasionally on free tv or sometimes at other people's place... so maybe might have missed the good parts...
The thread definitely veered off topic... so I guess this is what it feels like to be on the receiving end.
I've seen episodes from all series of the Clone Wars and in my eye Ahsoka was still the ridiculous girl-genius Padawan I saw in the earlier series. It's Wesley Crusher all over again... Rebels had more of an Original-Trilogy aura because it's just a few people against an Empire again, only difference is that most of them are younger than me. That's why I haven't seen it and I'm not really sure if I will, although maybe just to see Jason Isaacs as the Grand Inquisitor because he's an excellent actor.
Rebels is absolutely worth watching, even if two of the main cast are younger than you. I know people who I'm pretty sure are a lot older than you who love the show, so it's not a reason not to watch it. Please don't take any offence at this, as it's not ment as criticism or anything, but one thing I don't understand with you are your views with the Original Trilogy. I 100% agree with you about the Prequels - they are super underrated. Few things annoy me more with Star Wars than people moaning about how the prequels 'ruined Star Wars' just because of their hatred of Jar Jar Binks or whatever (let's not get Jar Jar into in this conversation though). But you seem to lash out at that by saying the same things about the Originals. You grew up with the prequels and prefer them, I understand that, and you're not as much of a fan of Empire. I'm not complaining about that or anything. But you were using the fact that Rebels is like the Originals as a reason why you wouldn't like it, and you speak of the Originals like most people speak of the Prequels. I guess I just think that it's very difficult for people to be massive fans of Star Wars and not fans of the Originals really. You seem to imply that you both are are and aren't at the same time. I don't know, I guess I'm just a bit confused about your stance - you seem to be somewhat prejudiced against them. It's not meant as criticism in any way, so sorry if it comes across that way. But I'm just intrigued to know what your thoughts really are about it all. I'm probably just misinterpreting things, but I guess you're the one who knows that. So yeah, if you could explain your stance, I would find that very helpful.
I am sorry, friend - I just seem to get a bit carried away like Orks in a Looted Wagon when it comes to Star Wars - I just love the prequels so much that sometimes I accidentally go a bit overboard and start to disrespect the originals, thereby making myself little better than the prequel-haters - if I do, please ignore me. I do like all Star Wars really and try to prevent my anger from showing (like a true Jedi should). I think it's not so much the originals themselves I hate, its more the escapist atmosphere I dislike, that's why I use the fact that Rebels is like the originals because the atmosphere of it all is similar and I just feel it gets a bit 'samey' by seeing the similar thing going on over and over again, first with the Originals, then with 7 and now with Rebels. I can see why you get confused. I try not to be prejudiced, I just get into a bit of a frenzy if someone mentions some prequel-hate and go a bit too far on occasion and have to withdraw myself. I may start watching Rebels on YouTube if I have time, and some more of the Clone Wars. You're not misinterpreting things at all - it is me being a fool, and I'm sorry about that. Your post wasn't criticising at all.
.................. Embrace your anger. Unleash it and it will make you stronger (like a true Sith should).
As in the conversation about original trilogy prejudices. You can't leave Jar Jar out of a conversation about least favourite Star Wars characters, obviously.
I still love the theory that jar jar is the true Sith lord of the franchise...it was his vote that started the fire after all lol
Oh my Gods... it was Padme's fault for calling the vote of no confidence in Chancellor Valorum before AoTC! You just use your hatred of Jar Jar to say he's a Sith! Padme was the one who started it!
No i hate the ewoks more than anything in starwars, and calling jar jar a secret sith lord is probly the highest compliment people give him. ( i like sith more than Jedi as a sith i can have a relationship...) And it makes sense almost as lucas thought about having jar jar reviled as a sith in episode to but dropped that plan as he was far to hated by the fanswww.cinemablend.com/new/Jar-Jar-Binks-Sith-Lord-Star-Wars-Theory-Isn-t-Crazy-You-Think-98257.html
