AoS Poor 1k List - Need some help!

Hello,

Relatively newbie here.

I have about 3k worth of models and last night I played a 1k against a Nighthaunt Army and got my ASS KICKED!

The List I played was

Old blood on Carnasaur
Slann Starpriest
Astrolith Bearer
2x Units of 10 Saurus Warriors
5 Chameleon Skinks.

I did manage to summon a Bastiladon but when it very quickly got destroyed by a horde of chainrasps.

I didn't feel like I could do any damage with that list (I rolled very poorly also!).

What should I have included? Or how would you all play a list like this?

I am no pro but if the undead were highly swarmy then maybe a stegadon with sun fire throwers might help.

Oldblood on carny does not fit for me, Eog maybe and aim to bring in skinks.

Warriors won’t do much in a unit of 10 I would go skinks as many as you can, play the objective, use the slann LoSaT to grab points

Rippers to pick off heros, death, nighthaunt are nothing without heros.

Also keep in mind: Nighthaunt are the newest army, and they are pretty strong.
I still think you can beat them, but that list you played doesn't stand a chance.

Against Nighthaunt I think the best option is to bring a lot of attacks. Elite units with rend are not very effective.
I'd probably play mass Skinks.
