Hi all,
Crowsfoot's post about maximizing the starter box got me thinking if there was another way to "quickly" make an astrolith bearer. Well, here is a neat Aztec pirate medallion I found on everyone's favorite shopping website for around $3.50 US. Obviously, this is an additional cost on top of the box set.

The medallion is approx 1.75" (approx. 44.5mm). It is made of a metal alloy so my main concern is it's weight. Plus, I guess it would require epoxy to attach it to a plastic banner post? Or perhaps you could mount it to a 50mm base, and then attach the base to the banner post? I suppose the medallion could be used as-is, but it would likely benefit from primer and new paint job to better match the minis.

Anyway, I thought it looked pretty cool and that it might have some potential.

Does it have a two sides?

As far as I can tell from the photos, no, it's not two-sided. In fairness, neither is the current Astrolith standard.

I think making molds would be a great idea. I guess not everyone is as crafty, so I thought I'd initially just mention buying it and "gluing" it as-is.

Making two part molds is much simpler than it sounds. And it not being double sided would not be an issue with a two part mold. You can simply make press molds (super easy) or you could make a pour mold (will take a few attempts).

Then you could be A Skink with a Mold:D
