I know there are several members who aren't crazy about the current cold one mounts. Has anyone seen these minis from Verge of War?

I don't know if they'll work b/c of their poses (the models don't look like they will easily accommodate a saurus rider), but it might be wort a look. They are painted with what appears to be tech armor, but that could easily be painted to look like scales. The description says the models are 45mm tall, which seems big. However, Verge also sells a set of "hatchlings" which are only 30mm tall. Is that closer to GW cold ones sizes?

Either way, they're pretty cool raptors.

Here is a photo of the raptors from Verge of War, in case you just want to see them without clicking the link.

At 20 for 3 that's a tad expensive

I agree. However, they're very similarly priced to dark elf drakespawn (the most common alternative). Both are around $100 US for 15 models, which is the base of what you need to field a Firelance Starhost. That is buying both at "retail price", and not ebay or bits sites.

They look twice as Long, nose to tail? But it is hard to be sure.

Good find @Warden Size of them is about right then ...pose, cost, and saddle building are the remaining problems then.

Agreed.

They would look great as a unit filler though (WHF), and I am sure they would also work great for Mordheim/Frostgrave game encounters.

Yeah... that seems like several issues to surmount. (see what I did there?)

I hate to say this, but I checked their price + shipping and it's $15 US just to ship. The company is out of the Ukraine it seems. So, that bumps their total price up to $35 US. It's likely more cost efficient to pay the same to for a unit of drakespawn delivered to my GW store. Sigh...
