Question about sashimono?

Anyone can explain me what is this piece? A kind of sashimono for cavalry? Any pict of it already assembled?

I have never used it for anything specific IIRC.
I always thought it is some random bit that you can use for decoration purposes everywhere you see it fit.

I used them on my Lord Kroak's base:

You can use in on your cavelry. On the sadle is a spot for that. Like what I did with my musician.
