Can a Saurus Scar-Veteran on a cold one join a unit of saurus warriors? If this is allowed, what is the effect if he fails leadership test?

Yes he can and for future reference...
So can a skink priest/chief on a stegadon.
So can a saurus on a carnosaur.

If the unit strength is 5 or more the model will not get a look out sir roll and can be targetted specifically from range, of course the large target stegadon could be targetted anyway.

The effect of his leadership test? As in... stupidity? The whole unit acts as if its stupid, all this and more great stuff inside the warhammer rulebook...

no its definatley US 5+ other wise a stegadon would be able to dodge a cannon ball when a nimble little skink chief cant

I was talking about the unit strength of the model/character not the unit strength of the unit.
