Blog Return of the Ancient Painter: Troggoths added

Now I'm going to comment on this as I have started looking into painting more controlled @Ritual fault so blame him.

Contrast, the hands need to be purple to break up the grey, the eyes look flat, the paint looks blotchy and textured, yes it's zoomed but still.

I have line shaded the gold, yellow glands and around his belly and it makes a big difference, I'm not going to start trying to do Eavy metal style minis as I would never finish stuff but I will look to start thinning paints etc.

I'll gladly accept such blame if it helps people improve :P

I've watched a load of vid's, read all about "juices" and your spot on, simple stuff like when doing edge highlights, not drying your brush after you wash it to stop the paint drying, I was like wtf so simple but wow.

I love the golden black pattern down the back, really nice. Don't forget we're our own worst critic ;)

So slowly thinking of a scheme for my Ironjawz and that got me thinking about armour and how they would add colour so I looked at the Warchanter model.

And that got me thinking what if he was a Warpainter?

Not completely finished yet but thought worth a share ;)

Nice work on the Slann and Warpainter! The colouration on the Slann's head is awesome.

I think that would look great and really add to the model.

My only suggestion would be to do some further conversion work on the palanquin, it looks a little corkish as the moment. :p

The Cork is staying it's a master piece ;)

Then I am the guy who lives in the street near the master and tries to pick up some lessons by looking through holes in the fence. :D
I doubt that... I can count on two hands the number of models I have painted in the last 5 years. Alas, when it comes to painting, I am the noob of noobs!
