Blog Ritual's Army - Lizard on Lizard Action (For the Waaaaagh!)

So what are you planning to put in there? clown fish? Guess it'll be something more extraordinary since you took your time and hopefully thought a bit more about it... I had some tanks with apistogramma and also some African chichlids... and one L46 catfish... no salt water though ...

Definitely a royal gamma, and maybe a watchman goby. We're still debating it, though a pair of clown fish have been on the agenda for quite some time so I might be talked into it. Mostly I am in it for the coral though which is why I went for such a godamn bright light.

I shall keep you all updated... Maybe not in my painting thread though, haha.

My suggestion:
Buy a 40K Space Marines tank, and build a nice tank-wreck. Don't paint it (or paint it with color that's ok to use in fish tanks). Put the parts on some base so you can remove it and put it back easily. It will look awesome once algae and stuff grows over it. :)

Also: Take pictures of fish hiding in a tank wreck! :)

I looked into it and it would require a lot of work to seal a model to make it safe for aquariums, you would need to cover it in two part aquarium safe epoxy - which doesn't go on very nice and smooth.

Would be a cool concept, just not sure I have the patience for it currently... I'd rather have a traditional looking tank in the lounge :P Maybe in future for my office...

I ordered a couple of Mournguls for my Death army... Hopefully something Nighthaunt related is in this new book, but even if not I like the idea of a fluffy ghostly army, so it's happening regardless. Once the book is out I'll see what's going on for the leaders.

I'm going to paint some more Nurgle dudes tomorrow, finish off the Plaguebearers and probably build the other nurglings and make a start on those too.

With the Nurglings, I've built 3 as per instructions and then the other 3 I have so far I left of the front tier, they still look ok for gaming but it has given me loads of Nurglings for other bases etc

Yeah, I left the spare nurglings off mine - got a big batch of them already. Not sure I'll use them though, we'll see. I'll build them as their basic 3 bits on the base and see how it goes. Might add a couple of extra ones to this batch for some variety...

Quick updates...

Amazon did 10 off a 50 quid shop, so I got a Fire tablet for £40, quick bit of questionable internet use later...

Easily capable of opening battletomes. Bargain.

Spirit hosts stripped, and based...

Ready for paint tomorrow.

Last of the plaguebearers almost done, details and weapons, and slime and blood of course, still to go.

Will finish those off tomorrow well.

Looking even better up close! You painted the bases that glowing-color too! :wideyed::watching::artist:

I dry brushed the area closest to the ghosts on the ground with a light green and then a light blue, then drybrushed grey and white on the outer reaches of the base. The highlights on the rocks, skulls and gravestones were a green wash then a light drybrush, then a either an edge highlight or a little dab of nihilikh oxide depending on what it was... Overall pretty happy with how they came out!

My two Mournguls arrived yesterday, but the wife said I'm not allowed them until my birthday on Friday so they got taken away!

Thinking post birthday I'll be ordering a skullvane manse and 6 more spirit hosts, and then a couple of banshees or cairn wraiths - depending on the new book - and the new hero. That'll be the whole of a 1000 point Nighthaunt force done. Then I can decide what to expand into from there for the Death side of things.

My Nurgle Plaguebearers are almost finished too, still powering on with those.
