If they are shortly going to publish an AS2, and change all of the rules, what’s the point of speculating about or tinkering with this One rule?
To be fair we started the discussion before the announcement of AoS2. I think everyone is aware that things might change in interesting ways very soon. I wonder if the RoO will be changed. It sounds like they probably won't be changed though, the texts by GW hint at the changes not being too numerous.
I don't want to recreat those horror stories But it'd be nice if wizards and magic felt more impactfull than they do now. Especially the more minor wizards tend to all more or less just stand in the back, cast 1 spell per turn resulting in 1-2 damage or maybe adding +1 to the hit rolls of some model and that's about all they do. It just feels very weird on them. The only wizards that feel truly impactfull are the stuff like vampire lords on dragons that have a spell that synergizes nicely with riding a murderous giant monster, so they're not so much being impactfull as wizards as much as as murderous monsters and the likes of Nagash and Kroak who are just such powerfull wizards that no matter how much you gut magic they'l probably remain at least decent models. I really just want stuff like a starpriest and starseers to actually get to do something fun and interesting.
I can 100 percent agree with that. Feels like a spell revamp might help that fact, or even some type of combo spell ability "if you have both a starseer and starpriest, cast...." I've always been a fan of cool, unique effects rather than the generic "reroll x" or "add -1 to x"
Oh man, I still have nightmares of a lucky Purple Sun just mowing through your entire army. Some of those spells were just broooootal. Thankfully we had the slann so it was hard to be too critical cause I was doing the same thing! Sorry for the double post, was on mobile. Is there a way to delete your own posts? I tried to collapse these into one post but I can't figure out how to delete haha
You can edit posts but not delete em. mm, I would love combo's like that, though I'd also like "if you have 2 starpriests, cast..." especially seeing as most factions only have 2-3 wizard.
Don't worry, as long as you don't do it all the time we don't mind double posts. Especially is they are useful posts.
