I took a peak at the Craftworlds (Eldar) line. Based on that... 1 December I agree that this looks like new Eldar Rangers or a new Illic Nightspear. 2 December This looks like the exhaust for an Eldar Jetbike. 3 December Again, this looks like a rifle from new Eldar Rangers or from a new Illic Nightspear. 4 December Another possible Eldar Ranger (maybe the unit commander?), but I'd wager it's from an updated Illic Nightspear. The scenery and potential pose seems very similar. 5 December It's hard to make out, but it could be parts from a Wraithguard/Wraithknight/Wraithlord? 6 December This looks more like the back of a new Illic Nightspear than one of the Eldar Rangers. The Rangers have more gear on their backs. Whereas Illic... 7 December I'm not totally sure, but it could be the weapon for an updated Eldar Dark Reaper or Eldar Fire Dragon 8 December Looks like Lumineth. But it could be a new interpretation of a helm for an updated Eldar Phoenix Lord like Baharroth, Fuegan or Asurmen? 9 December This looks like the barrel of an updated Eldar Dark Reaper cannon. 10 December No idea. Too unclear 11 December Looks like Chaos 12 December This looks like the sword from an updated Striking Scorpions. 13 December Looks like Chaos I'm sorry I didn't post the corresponding Rumor pics, but I thought that would be too many pics in this post, and we can just look back at the ones @Imrahil has already posted. I don't know how 40K goes, but based on the "hero-fest" that is AoS, I'd almost bet these rumors are for Eldar hero updates. However, since all of the Eldar Aspects are resin, maybe GW will be updating the various Eldar Aspects?
Yesterday's Rumour Engine is up: This time it is not quite clear what it is from. My guess is an Eldar vehicle of some kind. Grrr, Imrahil
Good work. I agree on the possible solutions. The Chaos Rumours could be any sort of marine/terminator or hero Grrr, Imrahil
I hope they start revealing new models corresponding with the Rumours because I am running out on the amount of images fitting to the posts... Grrr, Imrahil
The "James Workshop" video on today's Community page pretty much confirms new plastic Eldar Aspect warriors. So, looks like we're right... unless GW is just trolling. GW wouldn't do that, would they? https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/12/14/a-festive-message-from-mr-james-workshop/
well, at the end of 2022 we should have new Nighthaunts battletome. If that's the case, they are releasing this pic a long time before the actual new model
Rumour Engines of today and yesterday are up: 19 December: This makes me think of Necromunda, one of the houses as tech in a style like this. 20 December: Pretty predictable, every 5th Rumour Engine being a text. Grrr, Imrahil
Indeed. I can't tell if that is a horned Skaven skull? I'm still guessing it's Chaos-related regardless.
Beastmen, given the ram skull? Probably not, given the whole thing is shaping up to be Craftworld Eldar vs Chaos Space Marines... But then, given I like Craftworld Eldar and they did really need a lot of their models updated into plastic, that's not a bad thing at all. Also I play Chaos Marines (though with 6th Edition rules), so anything released for them will probably be benefitting from a 6th Edition profile written by me at some point. Initially I was wondering why these rumours point to jetbikes, given the current Jetbike set was pretty recent as it was released during 7th Edition 40K, but now I know what it probably is... Shining Spears, the little-known Jetbike Aspect Warriors who currently still use the old Jetbikes: I'd certainly like it to be primarily the Aspect Warriors getting the update, because they deserve it the most being units, and I can only imagine the suffering Craftworld Eldar players have had to go through in bulking out their army with mostly Finecast minis all these years. Of course if the Banshees are anything to go by any new plastic versions will be similarly expensive, but at least they'll be better, multipose sculpts with lots of options available.
Those are spot on observations. I've not really played 40K, but I've always liked the Eldar Aspects just for the cool unique theme of each.
Today's Rumour Enigne: Very undead feel again, although the spikes seem to form a Chaos sign somewhat. Grrr, Imrahil
