Salamader

On wiki of Lizardmen I think it said they were based on this so it makes more sense to have models looking this cool and agressive

and after kroak launching meteors...here's the arboreal cousin of the more infamous salamader, with the silliest name I could think of:
the geckuar
geckuar.jpg
because we already have too many theropods and the jaguar theme is underused
for size reference the rider is a skink, the beast should be big enough to be used for a monstrous cavalry

@details did a great drawing of a dilophosaur-styled mount for a skink called a geckuar (rhymes with jaguar)!

But using them for a salamander-style creature would also be pretty cool.

It's a really nice idea did he ever make a model of it? prototype or otherwise :)

You should defiantly keep an eye on Ebay I've had some relatively cheap models from there, there were some good army lots that went for 30-40 which was extremely cheap for what they contained - unfortunately I didn't win those though.

Edit:

Also if ur planning conversions look for dinosaurs in general there are some nice British history museum long necks but they don't come cheap :P

I love the huge variations in quality and price on ebay, 10 professionally painted skinks £40!! worse then I could do and I'm no professional, no sirry Bob.

I'll keep an eye out, think i'll stick to normal models for now though.

I often look on ebay and what people class as "professionally painted" is mind boggling, I can paint (not brilliant) and when I sell a painted model I always advertise it as "good table top standard"

Saying that if you look hard enough you can get some bargains, for example I won 20 Ironclad Mantic Dwarfs for £6.14 ;)

I'd think your models would be worth a pretty penny at your painting standard, don't undersell yourself! I prefer to paint my own stuff though, it feels like taking a little of someone else's personality to me otherwise.
