1 x Ankylodon 1 x Horde of Primes (nearly all basecoated) 1 x Regiment of Primes 1.5 x Regiment of Ghekkotah Warriors 1 x Troop of Hunters So basically most of my army.
@BAE Smoldering lava ash base as requested, Troll slayer orange drybrushed with black then stormvermin grey then karak stone, take a small drybrush after and add black around the bottom core of the base.
Ok, that looks amazing, thank you! Each dry brush lighter than the last one? Or the same weight for each?
I really like your hyperstylized paint job on these guys. It's almost a half rotoscope like what they do for some comic movies to give them that style. Incredible work here. Absolutely brilliant.
Someone, on some forum, I can't remember where, said that GW's Stegadon was their favourite Seraphon model. If they have ever painted one, that person is an absolute masochist. If they haven't painted one, that person is an absolute sadist. Why do there need to be so many bone spikes?!
Come on @BAE I painted two, it only took me 6 months because I could not face finishing them off...... Dig deep, breath deep and dive in
Having to stare so intently for so long has made my eyes feel violated, but at least I'm pretty much done with the body! I'm going to do the underside of the howdah and glue it on before doing the decorative bits.
That's absolutely gorgeous! Really incredible job! You've got so much fine detail here, it's just great to look at! It just reminds me why I have been putting off painting the two I have!
'Just the howdah to go!' he thought. 'Now the body's done I'm basically finished!' he thought. WHY THE HELL ARE THERE SO MANY TEENSIE WEENSIE LITTLE DETAILS?! THE ROPES ARE THINNER THAN HAIR AND THERE'S JUST SO MANY!! WHY, GAMES WORKSHOP, WHY?!?
Looking good!!! I remember that building it was a lot of fun, but I think I've repressed any memories of painting the details. It's been over five years since I painted mine, though.
That's remarkably detailed, well done! I'm also liking the more earthy, realistic colour scheme. I can't tell due to the quality level of the image, but it looks as though the paint might be being applied a tad thick in some places so you could maybe try watering down your paints a little more on your palette? Something I did on mine was water down my paints entirely using Lahmian Medium, which I found extremely useful for layering to create smoother gradients between colours. Other than that, though, sterling work! When can we expect more?
