I think what is so amazing about your technique is how seamless your gradation between color transitions is. There is no sudden break in color. It is a continual blend of vastly different tones. Your color selections and harmony is spot on as well! They all pop when they need to and stand out without even trying!

    Do you wet blend?

Thanks a lot man!! Yes When I fo the blending I usually try to have the paints as wet as possible and also I try to build up to the lighter collor using the previous color, that way its easier to blend colors in the mini without having the sharp contrasts ( although some times you want them)

How I do it us pretty much watered paints and soft color transitions

That's awesome! I've always loved the results, but I've never been bold enough to try it. Usually a little too impatient as well.

You should definatelly give it a try! A skink or a Saurus warrior is a good place to start I would say.

And patience is definatelly the success factor for this... I am not to god at painting fast and making things look good. Thats why it takes me forever to finish my army @Chicken Lips

I know the feeling. It usually takes me a month or 2 at least to finish a unit just because it needs to look good in my eyes. If its a bit off I'll often start all over again for a particular layer or color.

------ WIP Old blood Kitbashing -----

Using the spare parts from my Carnosaur Kits ( old and new ) I was able to magnetize them and kitbash them so that I now have four/five oldbloods,
    image.jpeg image.jpeg

This one can be used as the rider for the new carnosaur or as an oldblood standing atop a slain stegadon ( still need to do some work on the head).
    image.jpeg

This one was kitbashed using the body of the old carnosaur rider and parts from the new kit, its going to be another oldblood/scarveteran on foot. I used the head of the carnosaur as a shield, I think it fits well an the paint job is going to help on puting it all together

This one is probably my favorite¡ and its going to be the scar-vet for my old carnosaur¡ I think he is proportioned for the old carnosaur size and looks way better than the old one. I made his banner from the troglodon neckle and some parts of the terradons kit. Ialso magnetized his hand so that he can switch between weapons .

The last one, is just the normal oldblood that comes with the kit, i only magnetized his hand so that he can choose weapons

Very nice kit-bashing. You have some very unique looking Oldbloods there. The Carno on the rock looks very dynamic! :)

This thread is full of win!

Some people are just skilled at whatever they do. And you are no exception. From the use of green stuff to a keen eye for picking and applying colors. I love the choices you have made especially on the cold one's.

Then I go to my hobby room and look at my Lizardmen and my big GW paint set. After an hour of trying to mimic what you effortlessly do, I put everything away and go cry myself to sleep.

Keep up the great work. I now have to live my Lizardmen life through your thread.

    Hello everybody!

After a milenia of not posting anything I finally have an update for you guys.

Here is some WIP of my second Gor Rok/Sunblood, With this model I am playing with a lot of new techniques specially with the ligthing so that it looked as if it was hitting the model from the top right and than going diagonaly down to the bottom left. Also I wanted his colors to be a little darker then my usual stile.

I am still experimenting and a long way from finishing so any advice is welcomed:
