Cheers mate! Yes! It took a while to finish all the details but at the end I am happy with how it turned out.

Hahhaa thanks man! I am enjoing finnally geting to finish my models! They had been colecting dust for a while now. I am happy to see that you guys are liking them as well.

I glued some magnets on the itherside so that i can swich between the engine of the gods and the other stegadon. The blowpipes the big bow and the skinks are also magnetised. Really happy with the result
 
What I love the most is how clean your painting is. I can .. try to highlight as well, but it's so far away from yours and I also find that some of my paints kinda lumps up and gets all kinds of weird. MORE PRACTICE :hungry:

Thin your paint a tad with a retarder and try not to paint under a desk lamp if possible, I too suffer with the same problem but mine is more impatience on my part.
 
What about the desk lamp? Our apartment is unfortunately very dark :(

they give off a lot of heat so that speeds up your drying time especially if you have a strong bulb in it, I have started mixing on an old plate and keeping it out of the light, using a retarder really does help maintain flow but I tend to get lazy as the night goes on and just end up using paint from the pot!

Xlanax_lot you good sir possess some very serious high level talent. Your transitions from light to dark are perfect. Colours, shades and highlights are all perfect. Well done!
 
where can I find such a lamp in Europe though? :D
 
Ikea? Also, any LED lamp should do as well, they don't give off heat and come in pretty natural colours as well.
 
That's awesome! Do you use an airbrush? It looks as though some of the areas on your base there were blown-on. If not, then my hat's off to you!
 
Just looks like just skilled brushwork to me. :cool:
Love that you painted the sides of the base like that,
and now I definitely see why you were showing us the press molds yesterday.;)

It's just a drybrushing with a couple of different tones.

I have been playing with the idea of getting an airbrush and experimenting with it, how ever I have no idea about wich one to buy.

Same here I have looked at a few reviews and watched quite a few tutorials on the subject, but still no clearer.
 
I have a friend that does commission painting and he uses an airbrush and will swear by the results. It also is rather quick to use and get the desired results. He has been after me to get one for quite some time, but I just can't ever bring myself to purchase one.

He recommends:
Iwata Airbrush: Eclipse CS, Gravity Fed (Important), Dual Action, Internal Mix ~ roughly $125.

You'll also need though:
Air Compressor: Total air volume needed x 1/(Duty Cycle) = Compressor CFM requirement
- Duty Cycle - normally given as a percentage, means the compressor engine should only run for that percentage of every hour the compressor is in use. It's a good recommendation to follow as best you can to keep your compressor running for a long time to come.
Fine detail needle and nozzle ~ roughly $7-$10
Airbrush Thinner: Model Master Acryl (Universal Acrylic Thinner) ~ $7.49

I can't argue that the results look really cool. I will probably eventually break down and get one, but my babies will have to get a little bigger before I have time (or money) to do that.
