8th Ed. Salamanders

Has anyone found a good alternative to the crap GW model? Conversions or otherwise? I dig the razordon model, but the salamander looks terrible imho.

Convert a razordon into a salamander? Thats what I'm doing. Add a fin down its back, maybe some bits of flame if you want, paint the spikes molten red.

You could actually then use them as either sallies or razordons. Win/Win.

I like the old ones as well. I have two of the new ones though that I submerged most of the body so they look alright.

I use Flesh Hounds painted green. Just add green stuff scales to cover up the chaos marks.

I think the Flesh Hound with GS would be an interesting conversion. Zed could you maybe post a picture of your Sallies?

Awww, thank you for admiring my paint scheme I'd love to pick up another one of these old models at some point to make a 3rd conversion, although the second one I did took me about 4 weeks to make. I've seen plastic cold ones turned into Sallies with the addition of plastic card cut into a sail. If all else fails, I may sculpt an original piece...once my Kroxigors are done, of course...
