ho ho, I’ll be sure to make sure some of my original SW toys from when I was a nipper in the early 80s will be visible in photos for battle report I am doing tonight. Lizards v Rats as per.

Bodies all look similar in colour now. Sotek, Steg green coelia shade.
Open mouthed guys at front for teef and tongues next. I put some ardcoat on the banner to glossy it up a bit.(and remind me of the +1 to battleshock rolls)

30 clubs warriors got a light drybrushing of skink blue around their heads and teeth done (just did rakarth for them). Bases got a bit more sand added then watered down steel legion drab over that. They need a dry brush of something light on the sand and the rims done and that’ll be it for them. Have to do same for 20 spears.

In the meantime I’ll do a bit more on the stegadon after not touch it for months. Horns... FF31A98F-0CFF-4B33-936E-B1C1D9BE7619.jpeg

So I’ve not had much time this past few days but I did pull out my whole army (minus guard and spares)to take a pic of them back at my own place. Ha! Ripper stand broke as soon as I touched it! Sort of there...just about. The saurus warriors being mostly done makes a big difference. Still have some tricky things to paint. One of my pals wants to paint my slann. He’s a superb painter so I don’t mind. (Note the skinks on double sided tape on a piece of acetate. Works well for temp storage and initial set up.) the old school skinks on the far left are proxies for chameleons until I get some more built as per some of the great kitbashes on here @Crowsfoot also looking forward to having a scar vet on cold one!

Agree. I think the skin color will look ok on the finished miniature.

Cheers! Doubt I’ll finish everything by end of July so I’ve pushed it to end of August. What to do then!?
I’ve decided to sell my space hulk, old stormcast and khorne stuff as I don’t ever play them. Got my eye on a moonclan list!

You need an army for each of the Alliances so you have plenty to give you headaches.

Yeah, that squig gobba thing set my mind in motion then when I saw the amusing sculpts of grots that was my mind made up. And I wanted a death army last year when the skirmish boxes came out, loved the nighthaunt one. I have some spirit hosts already. Saying that, I still have a few to finish on skaven army (ive painted both armies in the game I play). Rats are easier than lizards imo!

So...a couple of weeks on and I did indeed end up going for greenskinz and grots, pff, who needs battalions?... Built. 10 orruks, 10 boarboys, 3 warbosses inc one on a boar, boar chariot, 20 grots with bows, 3 fanatics, grot shaman(metal) and a kitbashed mini “shaman” out of bits from fanatics box. I’ve got 60 more grots off eBay not in photo that need primed as per mengels method....a couple of folk have said rumours are that moonclan are getting new stuff but I’ve not been able to corroborate that. Meantime I’ll have a few fun games with these, maybe a matched play one too then see how I want to round out the army...at the moment I’m favouring brutes or maybe a rogue idol.
Considering I have a good seraphon army it’s weird I’ve taken a step back but as they’re so strong it’s no contest against my regular playing partners skaven. Spoke to a guy in gw at weekend who’s always there and when I said I play as seraphon he gave me “the look”. The kind that tzeentch players got last year. I’m not having that.

This was the configuration I ended up going for for another shaman. Not exactly kitbashing, more like sticking things on to a base. I love the little cauldron and mushroom growing out of a jar. Mold lines have gone now btw! This is stuff out of the fanatics sprues.

    Greenskinz!
I am sad that they are so bad in AoS right now. Some of them look pretty cool.

Fun fact: Part of the reason why I picked Seraphon was because people told me they suck. Then they became pretty rad (especially against the armies I play against) so I picked another underdog, Deathrattle. Now both my armies are pretty good.
...guess I have to pick up another underdog. Maybe Brayherd or so...

Nurgle was also pretty high on my list but then came their battletome and suddenly they became popular.

....Oh dear.... I am a Warhammer Hipster! :D

Yeah, I was originally going to go for sylvaneth but got hooked on lizards. I had a few “well, they’re not that strong man” type comments...well, where are those nay sayers now!?.....err....probably playing as stormcast....
