Hey folks, I've been watching a lot of lists and discussions about our future in the meta, and I've toyed with an interesting list idea. The introduction of the Realmshaper and the inclusion of Sylvaneth as Allies has sparked an idea in me. The list is still a work in progress, but I'm in the early stages or sorting out what I really want it to do. Allegiance: Seraphon- Coalesced- Thunder Lizard Heros: Kroak (300) Skink Oracle (260) Skink Priest (70) Skink Chief on Terradon (70) Treelord Ancient (260) Battleline: Stegadon w/Bow (240) Stegadon w/Bow (240) 5x Sauras Guard (100) Other: 3x Kurnoth Hunters w/Bows (200) 6x Terradon Riders w/Sunleech BOlas (180) Endless Spells: Bound Emerald Lifeswarm (60) Terrain: Realmshaper Engine Awakened Wyldewood (to summon with Treelord) Mostly looking for feedback and what others might do with this list. But the gist of it is focusing on blocking with the Wyldewood and pumping MWs off of it with the Engine and Treelord spellcaster. With Kroak casting spells through the Trog and Emerald Lifeswarm keeping it and the Stegadons up as they bash face. The Kurnoth are to be backline skirmishing unit get a 30" ranged attack. Not the best hit and wound, but not too shabby as a threat. The big issue I see is board control, unless the trees get plopped down on an Objective and I can lock it down. Thoughts?
Adjusted List Section: Allegiance: Seraphon- Coalesced- Thunder Lizard Heros: Kroak (320) Skink Oracle on Troglodon (260) - General: Prime Warbeast Skink Priest (70) Skink Chief on Terradon (70) - Artefact: Fusil of Conflagration Treelord Ancient (260) Branchwraith (80) Battleline: Stegadon w/Bow (240) Stegadon w/Bow (240) 5x Sauras Guard (100) Other: 9x Terradon Riders w/Sunleech Bolas (270) Endless Spells: Bound Emerald Lifeswarm (60) or Bound Purple Sun (60) Terrain: Realmshaper Engine Awakened Wyldewood (to summon with Treelord) Secondary list using the same premise, just more bodies and a lot less Behemoth flavor. Allegiance: Seraphon- Starborn- Fangs of Sotek Heros: Kroak (320) Skink Starpriest (120) Skink Priest (70) Skink Chief on Ripperdactyl (90) - Artefact: Treelord Ancient (260) Branchwraith (80) Battleline: 30x Skinks w/Blowpipe and buckler (180) 20x Skinks w/Javelin and buckler (120) 5x Sauras Guard (100) Other: 10x Chameleon Skinks (180) 12x Razordon Hunting Pack (240) 12x Salamander Hunting Pack (240) Endless Spells: Terrain: Realmshaper Engine Awakened Wyldewood (to summon with Treelord)
I was under the impression that it was 500, as that is 1/4th of the points. I'll have to check I suppose. Easy enough to rectify. Drop the Kurnoth and have 200 points to rework the list. I'll do it in the morn.
Edited the list and reworked a few things. As @ILKAIN said, I was over limit on my allies. Took the liberty of adding an optional spell instead of Lifeswarm. Purple Sun for more damage, and extra presence. Boosted the Terradons to 9, and added a Branchwraith after removing the Kurnoth. Wraith will summon dryads to help contest and control points. Also clarified general and Artefact bearer. Trog seemed a good choice for TL trait, making him do more shots, bites, and claws. Terradon chief also seemed like a good choice for the required Artefact, as he can move around easily and get somewhere to use it in the shooting phase.
Kroak in your list is 300 pts instead of 320. I like the idea and like the idea of sylvaneth allies in general. Did you consider Durthu?
I was considering him, as a beat stick along side the Stegadons, but I wanted to have the Wyldewood placement for Loss blocking and zoning. Those things can do a lot of potential MWs. The Realmshaper, Treelord spell, and once more against any none Sylvaneth every time a spell is cast within 6" of it on a 5+. Edit- also fixed Kroak's points
I think the treelord fit in very well. Hopefully you can have some zone control. Personally I’d see if I could fit in palisades for sure and maybe shackles for ultimate zone controlling. You can really choke them down with that. Keep the branchwhych for the dryads. That is a sweet addition, which helps with the achillesheel of TL. The Trog is quite expansive, since you already have acces to its spell. But he can be a really nice channel for the kroak. You could also go for an balewind+Astrolith for added range.
I was giving thought to at least the Balewind as a possible slot instead of one of the other ES, but if I was to do the Astro, I may drop on of the skink heros. I am planning on testing this list once I have the book in hand against a number of opponents, just to see how it does.
Added a secondary list as FoS, with the Ripper Chief being a hear seeking missile against heros and there being far more bodies. Coupled with the Dryads being summoned, they can effectively screen and be used as chaffe for Skinks who will be doing a lot more shooting and running. Also figured to try one of each Hunting packs at full, to see how well they can perform in tandem.
With the second iteration of my list, I was considering a Scar Vet on Carno instead of the Trog. It would give me more points to play around with, and give it a bit more oomph. Problem is, the Trog was going to be the vector for most of Kroak's spells. I really wish it was cheaper, say 200 points....
