Blog Sealterbloind's Paint Log - Sneak peak of Zwup

Thanks Bowser and Bracnos for the positive feedback! Nice to hear that my paint job pleases someone other than myself too :>

Good that I haven't painted my priest with cloak of feathers yet... Will put it in a corner of my racks and first touch it when I can paint it like that! ;)

How many feathers are there? Did you do them by your self?!

Wow! What a troglodon! And nice snake! ;)

Thanks! I actually cut them out of Saurus Warrior's battle standards and stick them to greenstuff I had shaped like a cloak :) Even I don't have what it takes to make THAT many feathers, even though I love making detailed models :'D And I didn't even try to count them, I probably should have :'D

I did it a similar way... But made my own feathers... Had all my standards used for other stuff... ;)

I love the feather cloak!! and the troglodon!

Very nice :) especially your freedom of experimentation with colour schemes and that very smooth looking troglo.. As for your next move, i may have missed it but it seems like your terradons are yet unpainted... How about them ?

You have created some amazing stuff! Really psychedelic feather patterns you have painted, quite a blast of color on every feather! But you have pulled it off really well, it doesn't overwhelm the models for me at all, in fact it enhances the whole piece! Troglodon is great, but I really love your skink priest and your colorful Chakkax, very unique takes on both models!

:: First Dark One ::

It's been a while again, and I have been working with a lot of projects and painting, but not so long ago I got an inspiration to convert my old special character idea. So I did! He's my own beauty, Itza Chaq Khanx, my meditative genius of doom and twisted destiny. :) You can find his short story from Lizardmen Fluff.

Anyway, here he is, please tell me what do you think :)

THAT is something you don't see everyday, when I first saw the picture I could have sworn the moderators were pulling another april fools joke on us and the Tyrannids from 40K had somehow launched an invasion of Lustria. Very unique addition, I will now be going to learn about his secrets in your fluff thread. Thanks for the beautiful inspiration!

awesome work, really good paint jobs!

Only beef I have with them is that they appear (chakax and priest) a little too busy with colours.
As for the Troglodon, the priest riding it would benefit from a different colour scheme and the claws of the Troglodon aswell (more grey?)

Thanks for tom ndege and Jorgik for the positive feedback!

Thanks ^^ That Troglodon is really my crown jewel at the moment. <3 No you haven't missed anything, since I haven't painted them yet :) I actually have an idea how I'll paint them.~

Thank you! I'm really happy to see that people like my lizzies, even though they're way more colorful and have several variations of the colors than other people tand to have ^^" Also it's nice to see that you have taken a liking to Itza ^^ He's really special to me, since he was the first character I created.~ I actually have heard before that he resembles Tyranid Zoanthrope alot, and they actually gave me a little bit of inspiration to his pose. :>

Thanks, I appreciate your feedback, you have good points there! :)

The reason why I painted the Skink Oracle with the same colors was that I wanted them to look alike to highlight the bond between the beast and the rider. I wanted them to look like the Oracle was really spawned for that specific Troglodon alone (even though their fluff doesn't say that, it's just my own little vision of them). :>

Very nice I love the skink with the feathered cloak.

:: Tehenhauin and Scar-Veteran named Loq-Xili ::

Hi again cold-blooded fellas!

I have started nice and slow by finishing two models that have been without basing for quite a while. Now that they have got the finishing touches to their bases, they're finally ready to be shown to you guys! Someone suggested that I should maybe paint my Terradons next, so I decided to continue my Terradon Riders along with my slightly converted Zwup ;) They're waiting for green stuff to dry, since I wanted to give their bases a few vines to make them look more lively.

Okay, I think it's time for some pictures! Let's begin with my Scar-Veteran, Loq-Xili:

Next up is my favorite Skink character, Tehenhauin, the mighty and fierce Prophet of Sotek!

Hopefully you like them.~ I'm personally really happy of how I managed to paint Tehenhauin. ^^

Oh, and one more thing: I have also been thinking of doing a blog (with Wordpress or something) about my Lizzies, where I could but post all of my Lizardmen stuff, including fluff and art etc. When I have it ready, I'll share the link to it here :) Oh, and it won't mean that I'd stop posting things here, so no need to worry! :)

I really like the vibrant colours! Your Tehenhauin looks fantastic! Incredible work on both of these!

Most definitely! It's a gorgeous model, and the detsil you put into it, highlighted so dynamically it really showcases him!

Love both of them! Specially the scar veteran!

I love it! Amazing color scheme on both your scar-veteran and skink prophet! My only regret is that I can only like your post once.

Thanks for the inspiration! :vulcan:
