This is theory crafting with teleporting a blob of skinks. If you take the Shadowstrike battalion, you can drop the hero from that battalion in with the teleported blog. So you buff a blog on the table, teleport it, then drop the battalion's hero in with the teleported unit. Now it's there for command abilities and to buff the unit next shooting phase. but it requires having a priest or starpries in space turn 1, so not getting their buffs that first turn.

Guys, I'm trying to build an army for LT with a flying Skink Chief and Kroxigors. Here's my base list:

    Allegiance: Seraphon
    - Constellation: Thunder Lizard
    Mortal Realm: Ghur

    Leaders
    Stegadon with Skink Chief (250)
    - General
    - Command Trait: Prime Warbeast
    - Artefact: Cloak of Feathers
    - Weapon: Skystreak Bow

    Battleline

    Units
    6 x Kroxigor (280)

    Behemoths
    Bastiladon (220)
    - Weapon: Solar Engine
    Bastiladon (220)
    - Weapon: Solar Engine

    Battalions
    Thunderquake Temple-host (150)

    Total: 1120 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 54

I was thinking to add a Starseer (so he gets the LT artifact and buff those charges) and a blob of 40 skinks along with a second unit of 20/30.

Looked through all the suggested lists and only one focusing on Saurus Knights. Are they just not effective compared to Skinks or Saurus Warrior blocks?
No "competitive" list with Stegadons or Bastiladons listed as competitive either, darn!
Also, looks like I need to get myself some Chamelons!

A thunderquake list with two stegs just won an event in England recently. Search aosshorts on Twitter to see the list.

Stegadons can certainly work. The main issue they suffer from is dealing with LRL, DoT, and KO. Those three armies can remove 4+ save monster very quickly.

Looking at (some are quite small though) recent events around the globe, almost anything is "viable". You can pretty much make any list work as long as you pile a certain amount of synergies together. It looks like it largely comes down to how you play on the table, less what you stuffed your list with.

I just saw it. Seems a nice list, but I was looking to work for a list around my core 'cause I just want to test it. It doesnt need to be competitive, it's just for fun and play around friends.

Interesting to know about the Steg list. I'll need to check it out. My only opponent will be KO for the foreseeable so I might need to be careful lol

I'm about to build about 9-12 Terradons to try vs them in two weeks time. Will be putting together a few lists to try out in the last weekend in Sept.

One will be Suarus Knights, another Skinks and maybe Thunder Lizards for the third! Terradons need to fit in somewhere :)

I like it. Seems like a solid 1500 points. Chameleon Skinks FTW!

How would you build a list around Gotrek?

make a 1500 point list and then add gotrek to it. he doesn't sinergise well with any of our stuff so he just gets thrown in there.

There are some stuff that could help him, like the Slann spells that heal or give fly. A bound lifeswarm could be nice too :)
I dont know what type of army would complement him the best.

for us? well lets see knights and skinks are bad choices they move to fast and will leave him behind. so i would run him in a thunder lizard have him hover around your artilery to punish people coming after you. it would also pare well with that life swarm you"re looking at

That would make an interesting list, will need to write it when I get home. :)
Do you know if you are allowed to take the penumbral engine when you have Gotrek? WB seem to count it as an ally

wait really? no i don't know but i wouldn't worry about it. the PE isn't really worth bringing, at least not for 100 points

Its probably not worth the points as you say, but when you have I quite like it. It activates at the start of the battleround and to have that save re-roll on them even if you have not had your turn yet is pretty nice I think. And if you get the +1 CP result, that is not so bad either. Two basties will eat four CPs each turn (+1 to hit, shoot twice). But its expensive like you said.

Gemenids are great, I really wanted to include them aswell. I could switch them with the lifeswarm, but I really want it too. :)
