Had a great game last weekend. My seraphon vs his sylvaneth. I brought Saurus guard leader 2 x Saurus guard 3 x Saurus warriors 4 x Skinks Objective was steal the prize Round 2 as defender i had to pick a unit to carry the treasure I went with skink because of higher movement and moved him up on elevated terrain. Used everyone else and meat shields Some notable things that happened. He teleported his revanant within range of a skink which critted him twice with his blowdart killing him. My saurus guard with a triple three annihilated his leader with three crits causing 21 dmg Per the objective at the end of round three he tied up the treasure carrying skink but failed to kill him and the skink was able to slip away with the win for seraphon! Here you can see all the math from our Warband: What do you guys think? How about this lists: Saurus Guard Leader (220) 2x Terradon w/bolas (340) 1x Saurus Guard (145) 4x Skinks w/blowpipes (260) 965/1000 Maybe swap the Guard for a Ripperdactyl to make it 995/1000?
The ripperdactyl would give you some extra mobility, and people still fear them so theres the possible "distraction" factor with him.
Wanting to build a warband for Warcry, and wondering what people thoughts are on using Knights in a band. Are they worth bringing or is it more about the Guard (assuming I have some skinks already)?
They're ok, but they cannot climb up things bc of the mount runemark, the guard seem to be the preferred units from what I've been reading.
I run 2 guard, 2 knights, guard leader, 4 boltspitter skinks.. works well. Knights are good for those assassin missions both to get the assassin run and to keep away. Speed is really useful in Warcry
Thank you, Yes, I can see that guard are good but also that speed is good. May get both knight and guard models, to go with my skinks and see what happens. Is it worth having both boltspitter and Javelin skinks (javelin for a slight better defence melee option) or just go for boltspitter skinks.
Boltspitters all day! Someone did the math and they are just not good lol. The extra range is always helpful even if it's basically no damage.
In case you missed it: Sauras Knight Alpha was indeed missing the Leader runemark. It is stated in the new Warcry errata
Hello fellow Lizards! New member, long time lurker. I see we have been added to the Allegiance and Monster tables now. I was wondering if someone could help be better understand the Allegiance system. Based on this, does it mean we can only take Deepkin, DoK, and regular Sigmarines?
I believe so, there also the only Order faction that have Ally made for, in the hope that will get more in the futur starpriest and slann etc would be nice !!
So, my friends and I will run a campaign over a couple of months. We have to choose up to 15 models and make a list with those models. I played my first game yesterday, against Nighthaunts, and I brought: 1 Alpha Saurus Guard 2 Saurus Guard 2 Saurus Knights 4 Skinks with boltspitter and mace My skinks did almost nothing, my Knights tanked like true champs and my Leader was the MVP. However I missed some extra mobility and flying to get the objective. Any ideas to complete my roster?
If it's mobility and flying you want, terradons or ripperdactyls. Terradons are faster (I think... my cards aren't handy) but don't let anything get too close. Although I haven't used rippers, I reckon they can mix it up in melee more effectively. From the looks of what you're running already (guards really are amazing), I think you've got melee covered.
New units and leaders for Seraphon in the grand alliance order-book! Some new recruits include: Slann, Oldbloods, Skink wizards, Kroxigor, Salamanders and Razordons!
I know you'd said most of this came from Blood Bowl, but where is the Skink chief's masked head from as I can't see it in the BB kit? Or am I just being blind?! Also, that's a fantastic looking warband! Edited to avoid double post. I've been trying out the following for a couple of games, so far only against Nighthaunts but looking to have a 'Tale of Four Gamers' affair with a couple more friends on TTS in the near future. 1x Alpha Saurus Guard 2x Saurus Guard 1x Saurus Knight w. Spear 1x Terradon w. Javelin 2 Skinks w. Boltspitter 1x Skink w. Club The Alpha has shown himself to be a bit of a truck when it comes to killing stuff, and Wrath of the Old Ones is brutal! I'll be interested to see how they do against things that aren't Toughness 5.
Any thoughts bout new units? Has anybody done the math yet? There are plenty of new leaders and 4 new "normal" fighters -> Salamanders, Razordons, Kroxigors and Skink Handlers
The Slann Leader Triple was really effective in Catacombs because of the walls, basically: Pick another friendly fighter within 12" of Slann. Remove that fighter and set them up anywhere on the battlefield within a number of inches equal to the value of this ability. I was able to slingshot a Kroxigor up field and really surprise my opponent. Nothing about needing Line of Sight either. Slann made some good zapping too and Kroxigor with Tearing Bite Triple really shreds things because of it's natively high Str.
