Help Share your tactics for staying sane while painting saurus knights!

Start with the mounts, their pretty easy. Usually some kind of green (I use incubi darkness) and a shade ( coelia greenshade)is really all that’s needed for scales. The under belly is pretty easy with rakarth flesh and null oil. Base teeth and claws with Sandra dust and white scar with some yellow for eyes. It’s pretty easy to get the hang of it.

and once you get going it’s fun!

I actually used them to learn techniques I would fear to do in more complex and beautiful models, so here we go with glazing, different types of blending the 2 colors (underbelly and the top of the dino), different types of gold shading, fooling around with leather weathering and picking up the GW washes for the first time. Now the problem is not every model looks the same in terms of color, but this is what I call a biological diversity :)

No matter what I paint, it comes to a point where I can get bored. At this point I either decide that it’s ok if they don’t look that special and I will just finish them or I change the music/audiobook to something more motivating. The second point is usually my first pick if that doesn’t work I always can go to the first ^^

I based All the mounts at the Same time and was getting the same frustration. Then I decided to pick them 2 at the time.

This gives me more times and faster the satisfaction of completing models. Now almost 8 completely done

Whenever I do mange to start batch painting, I find it a bit therapudic to just let myself go and flow with the work. That often leads me to finishing one of the models completely, before I mange to move on to the next.
And once that's done, I often take a small break from that and work on another project, before returning to the 'batch'.

A secondary project helps a lot. I usually take breaks from batch painting and I work on basing other models in my collection. Just pick a project that uses different colors then what you are batch panting with

Subassemblies and secondary projects are good ideas that help me a lot.
Even if they make it take longer.
