So, I got bored one day and decided to stare in awe at Xlanax_lot’s custom sculpt for a few hours, which in turn made me want to take a crack at sculpting myself. While I don’t think it’s what one would call a good sculpt, it was pretty interesting to make nonetheless and I think I’ll make use of my college’s 3D printers to see how it looks in the flesh.

Took me awhile to get used to blender, admittedly

Nice work, in such a short time as well.

I like the teeth and throat of the first one better.
in the second the throat is to far in the front.
Maybe tone down the amount of scales a bit. Less might be more ;)

keep up the good work

Gr, Imrahil

How does Blender integrate with 3D printing software? Do you simply export the model and you are done?

So I actually managed to 3D print a model I made of a feathered serpent head as a prototype at my college’s fabrication lab, and man did it come out pretty well, apparently blender just exports just right to throw into a slicing program. I’m probably not supposed to be typing this in class so I don’t actually have time to take a picture of the prototype, but I will when I get the chance, I do have a picture of the model itself though.

So I went on to print a prototype of the REAL project. Modeled some cold ones after allosaurus with my own twist. My college’s lab monitor saw flaws in the first one and printed it again with better settings and only charged me for one ! Cleaning will be hell, but I look forward to painting these guys.

When I perfect the model I may see if anyone else is interested in it for printing purposes. Don’t think this is quality people will pay for though, then again I am an art student and hating my work comes with the job. Feel free to critique away! 4E673E2C-46F6-46EE-B31D-4C90DF918B30.jpegimage.jpg image.jpg

I was aware that I sculpted the legs terribly, so I decided to do some touch ups with the good old green stuff. So far I have the general anatomy down, just have to clean it up.

Wow that is really impressive! I am guessing the teeth were too small to come out in the 3D printing :(
