My understanding is that under the rules now the chief simply replaces one of the normal skink crew. If so, you would use the highest BS available to you.

Sweet, good catch T`hinker`er. :smug:

This is the same wording issue we had last book.. Just because he replaces a skink crew, does not mean he becomes a skink crew. Though I of course would love GW to rule differently this time.

Or give him the piranha blade to guarantee he takes out the war machines quickly then throw him at low level, low initiative heroes to have a good chance of taking them out in a challenge or holding them up until your heavy hitters reach them. I think I'll try this.

A skink crew is a defined model (part of one anyway) with a statline.
As such any action that requires "skink crew" specifically can only be performed by him.

So if he is allowed to fired the giant bow - can he fire one of the giant blowpipes?

I can concur with HoverBoy. If it states Skink Crew, it remains Skink Crew.

+1

Until this is addressed in FAQ, Skink Crew is the correct answer

I was wondering,

does the Priest on a terradon (and the terradon riders in the unit) actually get a +1 for their AS because they are mounted?

I only found this rule for calvary but not for flying / light calvary.

Forget my stupid comment, I just found the sentence i was looking for:

All the calvary rules apply to monstrous calvary ...
