Skinks, conversions and questions!

I have recently being doing some converting on my skinks and this is what I've done.
please excuse the fact some of the photo's are poor.

a normal skink into a skinks priest (I did this because I broke his head crest)
Standard bearer
musician
skinks cheif (from stegadon kit + a shield I made and proud of lol + weapon I made)


this is my skink cheif

there's part of the sheild lol

and you can see I have added parts from the temple gaurd that you put on their head on the cheif's leg and weapon

Musician I made using part from the slann's chair thing (the spikes at the bottom)



then my skinks preist who I think is ok but not sure on his head lol
Oh and sorry about the pink backround

I also added temple guard stuff and pieces from stegadon and saurus kit

so this has saved me a fair bit of money lol and are turning out ok.

thoughts, advice, critisism welcome!

now, Question time!

I am running in my 1000pt army 1 unit of 3 krox and 28 skinks, Including standard bearer musician and the skink cheif hero.

do you think that is good? is it a waste of points ? I'm mainly talking about the standard bearer and musician because with the cheif he adds a big dilema to the opposition of who'm to attack, skinks, kroxigor or hero!? also he's my bsb

and talking of Bsb, I'm confused of who can be one, I take it hero's can, and lords? or just certian lords and heros?
also can you say that the standard bearer is a Bsb or do you make a seperate model for them?

last question in lizardmen leadership is a weakness "ish" especially at low games like 1000pts
I run 1 unit of 28 saurus full command, will they survive well, I don't want them running of and/or dying.


If you wondering the other units in my 1000pt army are 1 salamander, 1 skink preist, 10 skinks skirmishers

Really cool converting, you certainly are very creative with those! I especially like the horn used as, well, as a horn. Who would have thought of that?

The BSB options for our army are listed in our Army Book, on page 93. You can nominate one Slann (who can also be the General, which is pretty unique), Scar-Vet or Skink Chief to be your BSB. In our gaming group it is allowed to use a normal Standard Bearer as the BSB, or just point out in the beginning that the Slann is one. You can also make a Scar-Vet BSB quite easily from all the banners left from the Saurus kits.

I think that the leadership of Lizardmen will be even greater asset in small games, because facing hordes that are unable to break your Steadfast is not as likely.

I wouldn't worry about whether or not skink command crew is a good idea for a unit that size or not. If my skink command crew looked that good I'd take them every game just to show them off.

In fact my command crew is not that good but I still feel the urge to field them a lot because I am still proud of my paint job.
