Package, package has arrived! Carno is magnificent! Saurian is a bit small to my taste, but I will cover base with skinks, warriors and scenery to compensate. Troglodon is a bit of disappointment, I'll probably just use official one and give this dino to kiddo.
Terradon bases are finished and nodels themselves are ready for priming later today. I've also sketched layout of saurian base to get idea of how many additional models I'll need (I mean to paint).
I searched for single terradon all around our country community, since I would like to make terradon chief for my 6 flying lizards. It looks like there is only single person in whole country willing to sell me single flyer and his price was basically half of box. I looked at 3D print options, but nothing really stood out. So... I am now divided between having only three flyers and chief and buying another start collecting. Also, here is progress:
Fourth unit of knights is getting painted. Half year ago I had models for one unit and wondered if I ever even paint two units... Also: The heck I hear from everywhere that Dread Saurian is being canceled?
I also managed to mostly finish terradons. Ut I need to varnish them before I add chains around neck and put them onto flying stands. Here is blurry action picture for now.
I decided that it is time for some break with lunchbreak lizards. I still have plenty of big dinos, but those are not exactly subtle on office desk. So my day to day hobby time will be mainly divided between Project Descent and my Bolt Action german force that I need to prepare for D-Day anniversary. We will be playing public games at local library and since my only army so far are Soviets, I had to borrow US army last year because Soviets were not part of operation Overlord. So I have prepared list with preliminary force and would like to finish it. I will try out few paint schemes on some spare minis, because I already have plenty of them in my pile of shame. In the end, there will be around 35 infantrymen, various special teams and puma vehicle. I will also try to squeeze pz.III in there.
I want to start small, because I wasn't even sure those thin guns can take abuse of preshade drybrushing. Here are first 6 minis prepared. 5 men unit and faust for trying out uniform color.
Another around 40 clipped out of sprue, so I don't have to bring big box to office. I wanted to start working on remaining big dinos, but I managed to forget paints in the office.
Issue with terradon chief is dealt with. I've just now won auction for 4 oldschool terradons. It cost me about 12 euros for all four.
First six friendly neighborhood germans are finished. I will probably change scheme a bit, because pants look really similar to tunic.
Part of second german group is primed. I have 15 assembled, but I forgot my blob of poster putty at home, so I managed to secure only 7 onto painting handles. And yet another distraction from plan, friend asked to borrow unit of armoured cars for his British Flames of war list. Since I have none painted and it would be shame that those would be only unpainted minis in his force, I took them to work as well.
So... Terradons came. I am a bit disappointed, but it was my fault that I didn't properly check what I am buying. Those minis have homemade neck extension from some stuff that wobbles. Also one of terradons disn't make it and broke during shipping, so I'll be stripping paint and while at it, I'll cut those necks and reattach heads to proper position.
Daimlers & Dingos finished. I also took photo with coin to show how small they are, but then I realized that nobody knows how big are czech crowns
WIP on special teams for germans: Medic (still need to make him assistant), MMG and Mortar team. Edit: half day later, I got another while to paint
Necks cut off, paint stripped (I also found out that wing claws were some plastic mock-up) and ready to cleaning up.
Busy week. I finished one unit at tuesday, but forgot to take a picture. So here is at least sneak peek of them on way home. Yesterday, granny arrived and kiddo managed to completely ignore me whole afternoon, so for first time in ages I managed to do some hobbying while he was in same room awake edit: On lizardmen side, I also degreased OPR bastiladon, so it is ready for primer.
