Ok just for fun I counted mine.
If you really count everything as one model regardless of size, then I made it to 254 this year.

But then yeah, my Stegadon contains half a dozen Skinks plus all its gear and I even built, magnetized and painted all the optional parts, so that would easily count as five, maybe even more. I'd even say a Bastiladon is at least five and that is nowhere near the complexity of a Stegadon.

I think 300 is a kinda realistic number to reach if you count some big ones for more than one.

Stegadon counts as 12, bastiliadon counts at 5 under my rules

That means I've painted two equivalent models this year... my productivity just doubled! I'm just about finished my Marauder unit filler which has the footprint of 9 marauders, maybe I can count that as 9 then!
If you give me a picture of the unit filler I'll give you a recommendation

Why not join me in my challenge come the first of the year?

@NIGHTBRINGER minis or equivalents. Slaan with thier chair and detail count as 5 for example.

See now your counting a Slann as 5 models but also what about level of painting?

Some may only paint 10 models a year but lavish hundreds of hours on each, namely @neveroddoreven and @Xlanax_lot

300 models in a year is good target but I want to challenge you @Lord-Marcus to paint less and increase your quality.

Still paint your core troops as you do but along side that slow down and paint for quality.

But can you do it? (I keep trying but I get bored)

That's a hard decision for me as well.
I want to get better but I also want to get stuff done to paint more. My still boxed models keep mocking me, and my backlog grows. It is a steady fight between quality and speed. When I improve I can either spend the skill points on speed or on quality. I don't want to make steps backward in either, but sometimes the improvement of quality opens up more possibilities so I do get slower.

My prime example is my second box of Skinks. They look better than the first 24 but I can see some parts where I painted them a bit sloppily. You don't notice it on the table but as soon as you pick one up, I just didn't do one whole cycle of corrections. For example adding another coat of bronze before shading.

Its definatelly a challenge, I am trying to keep up improving while at the same time reducing the painting time of my models.

It hasnt been easy so far.

Challenge accepted @Crowsfoot , although I have only been spending inordinate amount of time on characters, I spent an extra 30min on some saurus yesterday

Wow those look great, did you just do the calligraphy or also the artwork along the margins?
