Are you talking about the Sun Crusher from the Jedi Academy trilogy expanded universe novel or is there a "Sun Crusher" in 40K? I only know the basics of 40K.

In any event, if Disney is in charge, there never was a Sun Crusher but I always thought Star Wars Legends is more canon than the canon.

The Sun Crusher has about 24 torpedo. Unless the 40K lost the Sol System, I don't think the loss of 24 stars would make a huge difference. They lose entire planets fairly regularly.

While the Sun Crusher is nigh indestructible, it is a small ship with a single pilot, maybe a co-pilot. Hypothetically, once the 40K Imperigium loses umpteen ships fighting the Sun Crusher in an conventional way, they can size up the Sun Crusher and then attack the Achille's Heel. The pilot.

You hit the pilot with a psychic attack and it doesn't matter how invincible the Sun Crusher is. In fact, now the 40K Imperium can steal it.

That depends a lot on who kills the pilot.
A large portion of the imperium would never use the heretic weapon and would make sure no one will.

Disney is not in charge... the fans are. They can't take it away.

Since it causes the Star to go Nova, that's bye bye Terra. After which point, you can fly it through other ships as if it were a missile itself. They did that to a Star Destroyer.

A regular pilot sure, but what if we crewed it with a couple of the uber powerful sith from the EU. Darth Nihilus? Darth Vitiate? Exar Kun? or even go with Sidious?

Or if you want to go the Disney way, then just put in Rey. She doesn't even need a ship, she'll just Mary Poppins around like Leia. Wonder Rey could solo the entire 40K universe because she is the bestest evar! ;)

That is a problem with the 40K Empire of Man. They are often over zealous and shoot themselves in the foot.

I think Thrawn with the Sun Crusher would have decapitated the 40K Empire with a surgical strike on the Sol star.

That said, every other character in the Empire apart from Thrawn is not very smart. Without plot armor or destiny or railroad tracks or whatever you want to call it, Palpatine's grand plan in the prequel trilogy was very Rube Goldbergian or perhaps Wile E. Coyote-esque. It relied on every character holding the Idiot Ball.

    Phantom Menace alone.

    1) Amidala actually had a lot of proof of the Trade Federation's treachery. A ship full of witnesses, two of them were Jedi. The ship's log and recording. The holographic transmission of her advisor saying "the death toll is catastrophic."

The Republic could have shut things down right there. It made no sense that they didn't.

    2) The Jedi's archenemies the Sith reemerged after centuries. They could have easily sent ten Jedi and stomped Darth Maul into the ground.

    3) If Qui-Gon lived, Anakin would not have fallen to the Dark Side because Qui Gon would have been his mentor. Even if Qui Gon died, If Anakin was made the padawan of Mace Windu, Anakin would not have fallen to the Dark Side. Almost anyone would have been better than Obi Wan. He needed a father figure, not a surrogate big brother.

    4) If Amadala bought Zmi Skywalker's freedom and moved her to Naboo, Anakin would not have fallen to the Dark Side.

    5) If the Jedi were more open about their members having families, Padme wouldn't have died and Anakin would not have fallen to the Dark Side.

    6) If Dooku spilled the beans sooner, Palpatine's machinations would unravel. If some of the Trade Federation leaders turned stool pigeon, Palpatine's machinations would unravel. If Mace Windu brought a live streaming camera with him when he confronted Palpatine, Palpatine's machinations would have unraveled.

That's just the tip of the ice berg.

The 40K Empire is a little too xenophobic but they are pragmatic and Palpatine is not. Even if Thrawn decapitated the Empire of Man, this would open the flood gates for the Chaos Space Marines, Daemons, Dark Elder, Orks, and Tyranids to invade en masse and now it's Thrawn's problem.

But we are probably entering Superman versus Goku levels of Internet craziness right now. For the record, I think Superman would quickly incapacitate Goku. Then Goku's friends would desperately hold off Superman while Goku heals and comes back even stronger than ever before and then he would beat Superman.

Saitama would beat either of them. I want to see him beat up Goku and use the dragon balls to either wish for a better hero name or wish for hair.

Unfortunately, I'm guessing King would end up getting the dragon ball's wish.

Actually the Original Trilogy was based on Flash Gordon. George Lucas wanted to make a Flash Gordon film but his proposal was rejected, so he did the second-best thing and made his answer to it, which explains why the OT is tacky in places, why there is far too much plot armour for the heroes in it and why the evil empire is largely incompetent.

And regarding the Star Wars Vs 40K debate, the Empire would be stuffed against the Imperium unless they brought wall-to-wall Death Troopers, and even then the Space Marines would still have the advantages of augmented strength, a redundant heart and superior weaponry. The Republic would fare better than the Empire as Clone Troopers are many times better than Stormtroopers, can replenish their losses much quicker and are also augmented in their combat skill and mental capabilities, but I would say Power Armour is still tougher than Clone Armour, not to mention a Space Marine still has a big size and strength advantage. Additionally Imperial vehicles seem to be far superior than Star Wars ones - generally faster, and sometimes bigger to the point of being near-undefeatable - how could Star Wars factions defeat a Warlord Titan for instance?

And as @Scalenex says, even if they killed the Imperium the Star Wars factions would have to take on Chaos, the Necrons and the Tyranids for instance, all three of which would be pretty much unstoppable. How could Star Wars factions ever hope to close the Eye of Terror, destroy the Hive Mind or defeat Necron Reanimation Protocols and Living Metal?

I think 40K lore is just OP in general against other sci-fi franchises.

As an aside, I personally will always discount such trash as the Sun Crusher in Star Wars discussions. It's clear there was definitely some equally poor writing in the EU as with the Disney Sequels. I am experimenting with the EU as I received the Darth Plagueis novel for Christmas, but not everything will reach my personal Canon, same with me discounting the Sequel Trilogy but keeping Solo and Rogue One in it.

And yet the Original Trilogy, it's still the best set of movies to me.

For the record, I'm just playing devil's advocate with the whole SW vs 40k debate. !!!!!.png

How would a large-sized ship be near undefeatable when the Star Wars universe has planet killer and solar system killer weapons?

The Sun Crusher was pretty silly. A case of extreme one-upmanship.

When exaggeration destroys the credibility of everything else you wrote in your post. ;)

And also by just about every conceivable objective metric!
