Meh. Probably won't go to the cinema. Social anxieties and so on. ...that being said: The last movie I watched in the cinema was..... Star Wars VII ! I kinda wanted to watch Rogue One but... meh. Got the BluRay. And I even managed to avoid most of the spoilers.
Yup... they went up for sale a while ago. I got mine: Thursday December 14 @7:00pm That is quite the feat for such a large and popular movie.
Yeah I am lucky I don't use social media (except forums with nice people who know what spoiler tags are) and my friends are no assholes. But there is another thing: I can enjoy a movie even when knowing what happens. My brother accidentally spoilered Qui-Gonn Jinn's Death before I went to see the movie in 1999 but I was still as shocked and sad as everyone else when it happened. In fact I can immerse so well in movies that I am still on the edge of my seat every time I watch such a movie, even though somewhere back in my head I know how it will end. Star Wars movies are good examples for that. So if someone had said: "In Rogue One everyone dies in the end because the Death Star shoots the planet, and there is CGI Tarkin and Leia, and Vader kicks ass" I would have wanted to see it and be as immersed in it. Another great example is "The 6th sense". A friend spoilered the end when I was about 5 minutes into the movie, and I somehow forgot about it because I was too immersed. The end shocked me because the movie was really well done. And I can still watch that movie and have goosebumps during the right scenes.
It's great that you can still enjoy a spoiled movie to the same degree as if it weren't spoiled. Personally, I achieve maximum enjoyment when I am not aware of the twists and turns that await me. For movies I really care about, I try to catch them the first day of their release. In the case of The Last Jedi, I found showtimes for December 14, even though the official release date in Canada is December 15. Additionally, I am excited to see it, so I don't want to wait months for the Blu-ray to arrive. Plus watching it on the big screen is fun!
Two men lets say Bob and Rob go to the cinema and watch a western, Bob says to Rob "I bet you a fiver he falls of his horse in a minute" Rob says "deal" A minute later the cowboy falls off his horse, Rob says "how did you know he would fall off the horse?" Bob replies "I saw it last week" Rob replies "So did I but I didn't think he would fall off again" Bum Bum (say in Basil brush voice)
