Hey guys, i was just wondering if anyone had any good stegadon painting guides? I don't usually spend much time on painting my models, but i really want to have a go with my steg to do a really good job and i want to have a look at some guides.

I believe there is a rather nice one on GW's site.

I have not seen any guides on painting the Steg but it is a GREAT model. I mainly painted mine with a base coat and then just lots of dry brushing. What colors were you thinking of painting the Stegadon and the Howdahs?

Well this is the thing, i looked at the GW guide...but i am not sure if i want it to be the greeny colours. I may go red/orange, or a bit more vibrant blue to keep inline with the lizardmen colours, or i may end up going natural like on the GW guide...just not too sure. I am really looking forward to painting it though. But i am going to finish of my Temple guard unit first as they are half painted.

Any colour scheme ideas would be great!

Welli have a steg that is purple with red scales and onother that is light blue with orange scales.
I think i remeber a few that where where green with brown scales and a rather striking one that was
brown or red with white scales.

You might want to check out the project logs for all the pictures.

Check out my painting log for some inspiration, if you are leaning towards a red steg.

Cheers =)

Note: mine isn't done (I am putting off the howdah for a long time :rolleyes: )

I was going to prime mine white, and then wash blue to give him muscle-tones/highlights, and dry brush a darker blue for his scales.

Fast.. and I think it sounds good!

Brown and white is also intriguing though..
