Fiddling with making molds since I need so many of the same bit and i cant just keep buying kits for 1 or 2 bits. I'm a bit conflicted on it, and probably won't do it often, but for some bits I fear its gonna be necessary. What are your thoughts on molds? This was a trial run of a bit that has high detail but that i have many of, one of the Spirit of the Mountain leg armor bits. Came out pretty well, although I have not yet attempted to make an actual mold out of it yet. The primary bits ill be making molds of are the Carnosaur Crest and Spirit of the Mountain/Avalenor heads... as I need 10+ of each
Nothing terribly exciting but I started filling in gaps to pave the way for greenstuff work, then house cleaning began haha Going to give it fur like an American Buffalo, so thicker in the front and smoother/short in the back. Thinking maybe tail stripes like a Tasmanian Tiger
Thank you! Real happy with it so far, just added the armor and final touches, waiting on milliput to dry now The mirror is definitely growing on me, though i want a proper cover for it also for certain things
Fully built and partly primed! Lord Regent and her mount came out really well in the end, I ended up adding some armor to the mount to help add a little more Lumineth feel + break up some of the fur a little bit. The Lord Regent itself has a few spots of clean up I missed, so I'll be doing that before priming. As for color schemes, like my current Vanari (minus 1 Dawnrider) I'll be doing the black and orange theme for the armor, while the mounts color i am thinking a combo of an American Bison & Tasmanian Tiger. I have a lot of kitbashes, its what I do, but this may be my favorite overall. Hoping to begin painting maybe today!
Had my first ever hobby session live on my IG, and it was a lot of fun! My niece joined shortly, @Imrahil also joined which was super cool! It was fun just chatting with people, and sometimes myself lol I showed the beginning of painting the mane with my mixture brown and using Reikland Fleshshade over it I dont usually promote my IG, but the live hobby session was fun and id love for yall to join me sometime so heres a link simply for that reason: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ9vSTXHs7k/?utm_medium=copy_link Here is what we got done in that first hour or so, definitely making progress! Im about to mix up a lighter brown for the shorter fur areas and keep on painting. Hope everyone is having a great day today!
Made some peetty good progress today! Got most of the body done and also added Tasmanian Tiger inspired stripes to the mid back/tail area I think the stripes really help and add something special to it. Slowly but surely, might work on some armor tonight. We'll see! Hope everyone has had a great Wednesday!
Wow Dude!! I love how you have done this. You talked about the stripes in the live stream, but they look amazing! Keep up the good work. I might pop in the chat some time more Grrr, Imrahil
Dang that thing is weird looking... but actually works really well! Those stripes are phenominal, its really coming together fantastically
Thank you! They came out quite well and definitely better than I thought they would! Thank you! I really do love them haha, I may still build some color up on them but atm theyre at a pretty good spot I think. They're beginning to come out even more now that im adding color to the saddle area, which is pretty cool. Please do! Might do one today depending but not sure, definitely sometime in the next few days. It was fun chatting, I was thinking of doing some hobbying in the discord also which would be easier if people wanted to chat. Though there is the option to have people join an IG live thing but i think its limited to 1 or 2 extra people. But yeah, it was a lot of fun for me, hope you enjoyed it also! It was kinda fun explaining what i was doing if I'm honest lol i need a better camera/hobby set up so its easier to show what im doing though as im explaining. @Lizards of Renown might get his wish about tutorials lol but no promises yet
Thank you! They definitely came out better than I thought they would, I've always struggled with stripes (imo). So it was great that they turned out how they did, people seem to like them and so do I! Hoping the rest of the model turns out alright also haha
Lol, it is pretty weird looking, isnt it? I like to imagine them in both Highland and Mountain terrain, using their tails as anchors or fith legs when traversing especially perilous areas. Very weird creature indeed lol. I need to make a Beastiary entry for it at some point Thanks! They came out better than I hoped, feel like I've always struggled with stripes
Not a super long entry, pretty tired, haven't slept well in probably 2 or 3 days lol but been working on the saddle area and really happy with it so far. Using the icons there im translating them into the Sun and Moon, symbolizing my Ilithians belief of the original two twin spirits of Hysh: The Sun And Moon spirits (and more deeply the two original spirits, being Twins, the Realms being Hysh and Ulgu). Originally i had the background orange but after talking to my girlfriend about it i decided to change it back to black, and wow the difference is stunning (thanks babe for convincing me if you ever read this!) Slowly also outlining the armor, but i also still have work to do on the longhorns body also. So all in all... very much a WIP still. Any c&c is welcome! Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!
