Now debating on the color of the shaft of the staff...

    Gold, Wooden or Bone

Sorta leaning Bone since hes a Ghur Star Priest, but I dont have the best bone color paints atm

White scar, pallid wytch flesh, rakarth flesh and seraphim sepia is what I have for bones really

Almost done, some shading and touch ups/missed areas are left for the Star Priest.

I just wanted to share how he looks on my 4th model and first ever Troglodon with his custom base. I Love it.

    very nice work!
What a high model it has become
(it will be a pain in the ass to transport, or is it detachable?)

Will you be painting the side of your base?

Thank you! Thats high praise! I have really enjoyed painting it and challenging myself to do new things (Base, Resin, Galaxy Crystal are all new things for me) as I go.

I will be at some point attaching everytning but for now it is just a display piece as I dont play the game itself yet, I just collect, paint and write at the moment

Neither the Trog or the Priest/Oracle is attached yet, the skink will be going on my Thunderlizard actually. I have a different Oracle for the Troglodon that I haven't painted up yet

Thanks so much! All of it was a lot of fun to do

That's my second custom base so far! Very happy with how it came out, learned a few things (like less coloring for the resin lol) and really want to make more down the line (may even try to sell a few for some extra cash as I'm unemployed atm due to illness the past 3 months) as I love making bases with some story behind it.

My goal is to make a custom table.

Half of the table is going to be the new Dragon Isles that floats above Ghur (my personal fluff) which is the islands, surrounding sea and part of mainland Ind/coast before the mourn mountains.

The other half is going to be Xiuhcoatl (my personal fluff made Temple City) to scale

The idea would be a attack/defend type of game where the attacker first has to land and make it within x" of where the Temple City is on the Island. After the attacker makes it to that point in the allowed amount of time/turns you then move to the other side of the board for a siege/city attack at which point the defender has to keep them from reaching the main central temple to win unless one army is utterly destroyed

I dunno, big dreams lol but would be very cool I think. This won't happen for a very long time though, just though of the idea while writing and deciding how my Temple city and floating Island would look

Screenshot_20191102-065340_Chrome.jpg Picture of what Im talking about regarding the dragon isles

My OC combined the major isles into one land mass and eclosed the sea with lifing up the sea beds all around it making it a giant living fortess with the new dragon Isles in the center and lifted up to be able to see above the natural sea bed walls and to act as the central "fortess" with small island bases scattered throughout the surrounding sea

Update on my Thunderlizard project :)

Please excuse the mess, been rearranging/pre winter cleaning the house

Ive been a little slow moving with the project due to some obstacles

    1. Waiting for the Howdah platforms themselves to br printed. My 3D guy had some issues with his printer and ended up having to do them in plastic, they turned out really good, but may have them reprinted in resin as I originally planned

    2. Life. As well all know life happens and its been a rough 3 months

But been working on the base to what the Howdah will sit on and its came out really well! I have gone ahead to correct the right side and the glue is drying now, so hopefully thats just an easy fix! I still have some filling and trimming to do so its all lined up and so as much as the styrofoam under the wood is covered (styrofoam to protect the model itself from scratches

As you can see I have all three platforms up! Very exciting night and milestone for this project. Soon ill be able to paint the base and then prime/paint the platforms after they are fully built.

What I want to do from here after everything is painted:

    1. Tie it down with the chain I have

    2. Build up the central platform with a rejuvenation crystal and (possibly) Astrolith Banner

    3. Skinks

    4. Idols

    5. Other things I think of later

Waiting on neck armor to come in the mail and need to consider making my own armor for her back/upper sides possibly.

    C&C and suggestions welcome! 20191104_223015.jpg 20191104_223239.jpg 20191104_223210.jpg 20191104_222833.jpg 20191104_222841.jpg 20191104_222848.jpg 20191104_222858.jpg 20191104_222922.jpg

Mock up of a possible variation using half sized side platform, though leaning towards two full sized platforms at the moment

Saurus for show! Skinks will be manning this beast :)

I have primed the two half sections shown, going to think on how I want to paint them. I was originally thinking a base of retribution armor but am unsure. The wooden frame I'm going to shade /dry brush with aggrax earthshade and mournfang brown I think. I have gold chain measured out to wrap around the Thunderlizard...still a lot to be done but I'm happy its coming into a real form finally! I need to get some green stuff or layer my liquid green stuff on the full sized platforms and glue the bits onto them before priming. 20191105_120349.jpg 20191105_120441.jpg 20191105_120450.jpg 20191105_120458.jpg 20191105_120521.jpg 20191105_120645.jpg

    Mehn, that height is impressive:eek::eek:
What is the measurement top to bottom(like below):

    2019-11-06_1312.png

I like 3 platforms, in general because the size of the mount allows you to.
But I am not a fan of 3 platforms in the same size. I like the last one better.

although 3 platforms of the same length but different in width might also be great.

    Keep up the good work.

The idea is to use sprinkles as the stars.
You put a tiny amount of paint on a stiff brush and just flick the brush so it produces irregular tiny white sprinkles on your model.

I have used it for blood splatter on Khorne and Death models and my buddy painted the cloak on some of his SCE in a stars+nebula pattern and also used that technique.
...and I think one of the guys here has painted a Bastiladon like that... might have been @Crowsfoot ...

Thanks! I have some updated pictures coming up here soon!

As for the base I am thinking 220mm x 200mm or 254mm x 203mm (8.6” L x 7.8” W or 10" L x 8" W) - Undecided though. I realize this is smaller than the Dread Saurians but I already think the Dread Saurians base is too large as it is.

Lol the Height of the Brachiosaurus is 17" tall so with the skink + Spear id wager 20" tall? Towering 12.5"-ish over the mighty Dread Saurian

As for the platform...I agree, I do sort of wish the side platforms were a bit slimmer that the top, but thats sadly not possible unless the designer would be willing to do so...which would then require me to be able to print new ones
