8th Ed. Swarm base size?

whats swarm base size? 40 or 50?
Going to make few from Coc snake parts

Are there any requirements on how many "snakes" we need to put on each to call it a swarm?

Or is it enough to put a few rocks, together with 2 or 3 of the CoC snakes?

That works fine. The actual swarm bases have more, but really, who wants to pay for those when you have the ones from the CoC kits.

My plan is two snakes at most. I can make three bases that way and it won't cost me anything I haven't already spent.

Although, if I went with one, I could make six....

Get some Greenstuff and make a load of snakes. Has to be a reasonably easy modelling project.

That and snakes from the bastilidon kit would work though some of them are arched in odd poses since they are dropping from the Ark

Why not buy some 3rd party swarm minis from online? There's a fair few nice ones if you look...

Not cheap, but thrifty. Now that you mention it, I have some Reaper insect swarm models somewhere around here....
