Second stegadon coming along nicely! Thinking about adding some orange warpaint to distinguish him as the chiefs steg, but unsure how to go about it any tips?
For warpaint and lizardmen I would keep shapes very simple and probably make it a bit blocky. Not fine lines. Can look up some mesoamerican art or war paint to get some inspiration. Big decision to make that I'm not sure of would be if you would color entire scales in a pattern for his scalier back part, or if you would paint lines on top of the scales. Probably either could look good, but I'd probably just do lines on top of the scales as painting the whole scales would look too natural for paint. Could also throw in some claw marks or hand prints in there if you want. There are a few videos on orruk warpaint and tzenchian tattoos on warhammer tv. Or just search for miniature warpaint and see what you think would look cool to you.
Thanks! You gave me a lot og nice suggestions claw marks could definitely be cool! I'll keep you updated on progress
Second stegadon coming long nicely! Feeling some progress in my painting too Really satisfied with the horns and skin, the combination of contrast paints and drybrushing makes a great skin This guy will be the main guy! The skink tribal chief who dreamt about unifying the other skink tribes and marching with a horde of stegadons to protect his lands against chaos! Will his dream succed? Or will he be beaten by one of the other skink chiefs fighting for power between themselves? Or will their slann return to show them the way? Well we shall see!
The Beast roars! Close up of the home-brewed bow. It got me thinking: since it's made up partly by a sunfire-thrower could it legally represent both type of weapons in a game? Of course declaring which one it is before starting
