Agreed, even as a Horus Heresy player. I still say that the vast majority of the problems involved in this bloat comes from GW's shitty decision to design and market the Primaris models as Primaris models at the start of 8th rather than as updated models for pre-existing units. For veteran players who've seen the models get larger over the decades, this wouldn't have been anywhere near as much of a surprise or uproar, just merely a newer Mk of power Armour on a "true-scale" model. But no, now GW has painted itself into a corner by effectively adding the equivalent of an entirely new army into a pre-existing army's unit selection when it should be its own army. And on the topic of chapter supplements, Horus Heresy did it better with a consolidated book dedicated just for legion-specific traits, units, characters and equipment, rather than the costly individual approach we're seeing in current edition 40k that is mostly fluff anyway.
Jesus! I know there's people in my local area who'd love to do 40k-scale Adeptus Titanicus (and can probably rope enough people together to form full maniples with the combined number of titans among the group), but that's definitely taking devotion to the hobby up to 11!
That is the kind of thing I always wanted to do with my IG artillery company (long since sold, alas). Big battlefield with lots of opponents that lets me actually use the ENTIRE RANGE of a freaking Basilisk...
EPIC! I do miss a shitload of Space Marines, both for scale and cannon fodder Grrr, Imrahil [edit: doing so might result in the game lasting over a year ]
Really just makes you want to shell out the cash for a resin printer so you're just paying for the material costs afterward. Besides, some people yearn for the discontinued Mars-Pattern warhound hulls.
Honestly that's how I feel about skaloks model To be frank. but I too want me a Mars pattern Edit1 holy shit $1,515 for a warlord. Man I at least waited a year in between my dread saurians but I'm not shelling out that much
Why "discontinued"? Mars Pattern is on sale on FW... there was a old version? i really need to look mine...
There was a blockier version available alongside the one they're still selling, way back when Imperial Armour was starting to be printed nearly 20 years ago. I might have gotten confused as to what pattern it was. Edit: My mistake. It was the Lucius-Pattern I was thinking of.
I get a little confused when they say they're out of stock. I also wonder how long it takes for a resin printer to finish a product. probably a week?
Just wanted to ask before I post because I wasn't sure, but since Itza gallery of Fine Arts is for completed Seraphon, would this be an appropriate place to post some completed 40K paintjob pics?
Perfect! I wanted to post this 40k conversion I did but I didn't feel like it fit in any of the painting threads and my hobby blog is about Seraphon. I'm a huge Apex Legends fan so I decided to convert a model of Revenant to use as an Eversor Assassin. The idea was to capture the aesthetic of Revenant with the wargear, pose, and model proportions of an Eversor to make it WYSIWYG
