Guys, this is HUGE. A guy i just know, but that is a friend of a friend of mine, due to a seriies of events, must find some room in his house and the only way was to free himself from some of his old and now unused 40k terrain pieces. (I mean, the guy got A LOT of miniatures, he's a painter, he works for Bandai, he loves Gundams and so on). So, he gifted our gaming group with some of his material. Here's a complete picture ot the whole package: some details. One of his hand-made terrain piece: and now, the truly outstanding pieces. here's a friggin' IMPERIAL FIREBASE. Cardboard and some plastic, directly from the 2nd edition! (and yes, near it you can also see a couple of "gothis ruins" (3rd edition) and finally, this... bridge. 100% cardboard, I don't even know what this was, but I bet you cannot find it anymore, anywhere!
Woah that's awesome! I love the retro cardboard terrain! And yeah definitely, Mars partly just because it simplifies the faction but also wrath of mars is just such a powerful stratagem, and lucius is unholy in how resilient it can make skitarii blobs.
I have that Imperial Firebase, it’s seen a lot of service in my 40K games That’s awesome that he gave all that to your gaming group, what a legend!
Posted this under the Warhammer Meme thread too, but I suppose it SHOOOOOOULD be here. I don't care how much it costs, all I want to know is how balanced is it and can I get one?
Today's Warhammer 40K preview featured a whole lot of cool stuff. The new Kill Team looks great (like a sci version of Warcry, hah), and all those ork models are amazing. I didn't take notes, but I don't think they announced a firm preorder date for anything. They briefly mentioned that when the Kill Team box drops there'll be a simultaneous release of a book with Kill Team profiles for "pretty much" every other faction in the game. So no packs of cards like with Warcry. Which is kind of cool. I've got an odd assortment of Astra Militarum and Genestealer Cults I can probably come up with a team from. And of course, at some point I'm going to have to make "the Sisters decision." I have hundreds and hundreds of metal Sisters models--everything they ever put out for the line--and I really don't know what I'm going to do with them. But I won't be able to resist the siren call for long, probably. (A Sisters Kill Team I put together right when I started this hobby in '17 I think is the only overall tournament win I have to my name.)
They will be available separately, and it sounds like you could make a normal Infantry Squad from the box, given the contents.
Well no, but the 10 guys you get in a box DO make an Infantry Squad, and apparently they come with all of the special weapons you need to outfit a squad. No heavy weapons yet, but flamer, grenade launcher, meltagun, sniper rifle, and plasmagun is a nice set of options.
