That snotling would have to have a great run. They don't get SPP for injuring opponents with a bomb do they? If not, then it's just random MVPs.

A question regarding rushing, if you have sure feet, do you have to declare how many rush squares you want to take right at the onset, or can you rush a single square, see if you need to expend your sure feet reroll before deciding whether or not to rush another square? In the Blood Bowl video game, you can move one square at a time, and then decide not to rush any further if you needed to use your sure feet reroll. I was wondering if the the table top version of the game differed.

Same as the video game, you can declare each rush and stop when you want to, such as if you've already used your sure feet.

They don't get SPP from causing casualties with bombs unless they get the Violent Innovator skill. They do however get SPP if they threw a pass that was successful (1SPP), landed successfully after being thrown (1SPP), or scored a touchdown (3SPP).

MVPs under official 2nd and 3rd Ed rules can be a bit of a crapshoot, especially if it goes to someone who spent the entire game as a bench-warmer. It's why my local league settled on the MVP being chosen by the opposing player for acts that most impressed them. It does mean there's going to be some recency bias, but it does ensure that players have more of an investment in other teams in the league.

I thought it was the thrower (Troll, Ogre, etc.) that got the SPP in that case. Is it only the player being thrown or both?

That's a nice system as long as all the players are honest. In a hyper competitive league, people could give the MVP to the player for whom the SPP would be the least impactful. I'm sensing that Blood Bowl is a much more friendly environment than some of the other games. I like this system.

They've changed it recently such that the throwing player and the thrown player can both get SPP. Previously it was just the thrower (and the thrower still is dependent on making a superb throw in order to score their portion).

That's a fun change (spoken from the vantage point of someone who wants to play Snotlings)! :) Two for one for a Troll and snotling seems like a good deal.

And as long as the snotling lands it gets 1 SPP, so even if the troll doesn't get the SPP, the snotling still does. And really good for a goblin doom diver, built in reroll to land.

So how viable of a tactic do you feel throwing a teammate is? For touchdowns? As missiles against enemy cages?

    Useful!! :) Thanks.

    Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: While it can be risky on your part, throwing team-mates is one of the most effective ways a Stunty team can score touchdowns, and in a way that can mitigate the risk of your opponent putting a good chunk of your team into the dirt. To put it bluntly, the longer the drive goes, the more likely your opponent will have put out at least one of your players (possibly for the rest of the game).

Breaking up enemy cages can work, provided the thrown player lands on target (there's always the potential for scatter, especially if the thrower doesn't have the Bullseye and Strong Arm skills), and best of all it doesn't end your turn if the thrown player gets knocked over.

The main limitation however is that you can only do one Throw Team-Mate action once per turn, no matter how many players on your team have the ability to do so.

Even more viable this season. The bullseye and lethal flight skill can make a huge difference when you're using a snotling as a missile. Even with trolls being less reliable than trees or ogres, it's still a viable tactic, that's hard to stop. And at least trained trolls no longer have loner, so something you can burn a reroll on.

    That's a big bonus.

Which is fair. Throw a teammate and then throw a bomb!

As per our other discussion, this is another plus for Ripper.

What is the best big guy, both in terms of throwing teammates and more importantly, overall? Factoring in cost and abilities. Disregarding Star Players.

I was happy to see that change. That change and the improvement of Pump Wagons were big in terms of pushing Snotlings to the top of the pile for me.
