I managed to pin a Bloodthirster down with temple guard, tempted by the fact a Slann was in there, and pelted him, and all the other nearby daemons with the EotG for two turns. In the end it was the combat res that finished him.
dual engine's might be a good counter to a greater daemon 2 d6 no AS is a heck of a start and if you stagger them then he can only charge one and hopefully get counter charged with impact hits plus have chubby flinging spells although this build would leave something to be desired in the troops section 2 units of 15 saurus 20 skinks some temple guard for slann mabye? just some thoughts
remember the bloodthirster can have obsidian armor so don't charge into him with a BoR olbblood, you will find it hard to punch through the T6 5+save and 5+wardsave with just your basic str 5 attacks.
Do greater daemons count as characters? (Sounds silly, but I think they can be army generals so I thaught I would ask anyway). If they are then Bane Head aught to be nice to use on them.
I faced a GuO last night. Did five wounds with a barrage of skink darts, though that was his fault for bringing Epidemus. Then, my Carnosaur managed to sneak two attacks through, which multiplied into 6 wounds. My opponent was so pissed. Question on the BoR. If I kill, by effect, three units of nurglings, do I get 3 wounds, no wounds, or nine wounds in resolution (i know the max is five, but for the concept) ?
they are lord choices so yes they are characters, just like champions, but I don't think bane head works on champions...
Sooo no love for the Burning Blade of Chotek on a GuO? Also could do this, Burning Blade of Chotek Light Armor Maiming Shield Glyph Necklace Cold one (give ya a nice 0+ save) not sure how that would work.
Here's the deal with that last combo: The GuO has a flail, meaning strength 8 the first round. That breaks your armor to 5+. So all those points just were practically wasted. The flaming attacks is nice, but you still need to do the whole 10 wounds! I still feel that BoR and carno is best.
