Well here we are ladies and toads. The First annual Idea of Sotek painting competition is ready for voting.

The submission period has ended. Below, you will find the entrants. Pictures will be posted in separate posts so that each entrant gets the spot it deserves.

You may vote for your favorite entry and a second favorite or runner-up. Please know once you vote those votes are finally you cannot change them. The poll will close in two weeks time.

After you voted feel free to join in a lively discussion about why you picked the entrance you did below.

Once the poll closes I will announce the winners and then contact them via private message to to determine where I am shipping thier prize.

As for my voting:

My second favourite entry was @GrDemon - saurus oldblood. I like the stark contrast between the blue skin tone and red armour. I think the colour scheme works really well with the model. It creates a beautifully imposing effect. Kudos to you @GrDemon !


My top selection goes to @Hojdar with the madslaan. An absolutely stunning set of colours applied with brilliant execution. The attention to detail is superb. I love the blue markings on the top/back of the head. The vortex/cyclone holding up the palanquin looks really good and fits perfectly with the model. The colour variation on the Slann's hands is also a great touch. I salute you @Hojdar !

Me myself will take some time contemplating before voting... would be much easier if one or two of you would have contributed some crab... sadly you didn't and so I have to make a hard decision...:p;)

One of my votes went to @GrDemon . That Oldblood is great, it seems it has just materialized from a chinese myth.

Speaking of Oldbloods, i really liked @Canas idea, but IMO the details are not well defined and the colors of the saurus are a little "flat"... don't know if it's an effect of the lighting

On the contrary, the details of the madslaan by @Hojdar are exceptional, but frankly i don't like the color of the vortex (while the Slann is perfect)

But this thread is about SOTEK, and we have 3 skink priests!
Obviously, I cannot vote for mine, so i remain with @Croco Guard and @Teve Torbes

The skull helmed skinkpriest is really nice, but @Teve Torbes did a great job and the details are worderful, so there goes my second vote!
 
My first vote went to @Canas because he is a relatively new painter, the piece my not be precise but it does show lots of drama and good technique that will flourish in the future.

My second vote went to @Hojdar the use of the balewind to support the Slann is a great move but also the colours are vibrant.

Both show great future potential as do all the entries, well done everyone that entered.
